Couturier and Read

seem like they belong.....and Bryzgalov looks strong! If Schenn comes up, does Hartnell go and maybe he's the guy that Eklund is talking about going to the Leafs from the Flyers.
Regardless, this team looks so different than last years team - after 5 periods I realize it is early but they still look strong and determined.

No...why would you bump a 50 point player for a rookie? You demote Rinaldo or Shelley when Schenn comes up

Man, Couturier looks good!! I kinda feel bad for Schenn - will he still make the team? Hartnell-Couturier-Schenn maybe?

Read looked great tonight. Had some nice chances before he scored as well!

Read-Talbot-Nodl? Or is it unfair to Rinaldo?

That isn't fair to the rest of the league comparing that 4th line to other 4th lines, because that 4th line has some offense and shutdown ability.

rinaldo has played well, but you cannot keep schenn out... what about schenn at center and moving talbot to the wing on the 4th line? Its nice to have soo much depth, only downside is it limits our ice time for young stars to develop, although we roll 4 lines pretty well.

I really like what I have seen from Nodl though. I think he has been much more impressive than Rinaldo.

No you don't put Schenn on the 4th line, Read goes to the 4th line. Schenn splits C duty with Couturier on the 3rd.

Hartnell-Couturier-Schenn
Read-Talbot-Nodl

You put Read on the 4th line because you don't put Schenn there. Schenn's skillset doesn't call for him to play with the likes of Talbot and Nodl, as talented as they are for 4th liners. Read is a guy who can mingle with those 2, as well as stand out when the situation presents itself.

Read has played VERY well, and this isn't a slight against him.

That only makes the 4th line more dangerous. Depth is not a bad thing.

what they'll likely do (IMO) is put Schenn on the 3rd and Couts on the 4th at center. That way you can bring Couts along at your desired speed...if he's not playing well you can cut his minutes, if he's in the grove you move him up and play the hot hand.

I'd move Hartnell down before I'd move Read down. No joke.

Too young of a line. They need some protection too.

Read is creating most of the offense on that 3rd line.... But I doubt they bring Schenn up yet. All the lines are clicking.

I like that third line of read-couturier-hartnell

hartnell is valuable there, he adds a veteran presence.

What Mittons said. I'm not sure why anyone thinks it's some sort of slight moving Matt Read to our already talented 4th line. 1 goal and some scoring chances doesn't lock your 3rd line spot down.

It also doesnt make you lose your spot to another rookie.

I'd love to see them go with 4 legit lines (that means no Shelley).

JVR-Giroux-Jagr; Hartnell-Briere-Voracek; Read-Schenn-Simmonds; Talbot-Couturier-Nodl/Rinaldo.

It does when that rookie is Brayden Schenn, and you traded your captain for him.
