1) We had discussions about 3 offensive lines instead of a 3rd line checking line and it was said that we don't have enough offensive talent to have 3 offensive lines. Perhaps it loses it's impact after scoring 5 goals, but we don't have enough offensive talent for 3 lines and a couple of goals when the opposition get lazy after the game is out of reach isn't changing that.
2) The Leafs just gave up 5 goals against a bottom feeder that is at least $10M under the cap. This why people don't take them seriously as a playoff team. To those who are promoting Toronto as a rebuild we should emulate... if we spent that $10+ million on small 2nd liners, we would be Toronto.
It's nothing against Kessel I think he's a very exciting and offensively dynamic player but I don't think some people realize how bad this Ottawa team is going to be this year. Everyone that said "they can't be as bad as last year" during the summer was out to lunch. I really think that Ottawa has the potential to post the lowest point total of the last decade this year.
