2011-2012 Manchester Monarchs Thread

I noticed our Monarchs thread wasn't stickied so I thought I would start one.

Season started tonight and they're leading Springfield 3-0

Also noticed Voynov isn't in the lineup. (edit: looking at the post game kings celebration video it appears he's still with them in Europe)

This is the scoring so far, good to see Lokti on the board early.

MCH Azevedo, (1) (Mullen, Jones)
MCH Cliche, (1) (Loktionov, Nolan)
MCH Cliche, (2) (Loktionov, Campbell)

Does anyone else relapse into fits of rage whenever they see the name Jones? My mind is scarred from experiencing Randy Jones as a King.

I was doing a lot of running around at work during the first period, but I believe it was a natural hatty for Cliche. Great first game. I was impressed by some of the the players tonight, Cliche obviously, Lokti, Deslauriers, Paddock, Vey. Nolan looked like he's improved too.

they looked pretty good last night. played great team defense during the first 2 periods, but got really sloppy in the 3d.

campbell got into a fight with about 2 minutes left, and cluner got a game misconduct during the same play...it was at the opposite end of the rink, so i didn't see what he did.

all in all, a good start, considering the lines hadn't been set until yesterday morning.

Keep it up Lokti and you will be back sooner rather than later.

I like the trend, though. As long as they only give up 1 goal every game, they'll be OK.

Edit: Drat, never mind. I thought game 1 ended 5-1. Now this post doesn't make any sense.

Call me crazy, but I believe I saw him there for the opening ceremony on Friday night, on the bench, he got spot lighted as the announcer called his name and he had just got there or something. He didn't play that game or tonight, but I think he is in Manch.

You are not crazy, Voynov was the last player to be announced, he was on the bench in a gray suit and was sitting in the suite during the game with several other players who were scratched.

Alright thanks, I was like man I really think I saw/heard him there haha

And Reaper..you wouldn't be the first my friend.

But on another note, which of the new players on the team have you guys been impressed with? I like the energy Paddock has been bringing, he's leaving it all out there every shift.

I am 99.9% positive that is Voynov. Same haircut. Same facial features. Same build. And he's hanging out just like a scratched (or recently sent down) player would be.
