Looked like a clean hit to me. I don't think it was embellished though, Cooke was clearly shaken up and even left the game for a bit.

Cooke definitely was hit somewhere on the head, probably his chin, but it wasn't heavy contact. A little bit of the upper arm caught him a little bit on his chin.

It doesn't take another hit for me to want Cooke out of the league.

Unfortunate outcome for a somewhat innocent play. No suspensions, fines at most.

Principle point of contact was the chest, not the head. Contact to the head was incidental.

But it was Cooke so I don't think Shanahan cares anyways.

This Pens fan didn't see anything terrible about that hit. If they start suspending hits like that, they may as well outlaw hitting. It was a body check with incidental contact to the head.

Looked at Cooke hit about 20 times. Such a polarizing player, wanted to take time to decide. My thought: Sarich's point of contact is body.

Head was not the target, nor the primary point of contact.

Clean hit, good hit.

Sarich could end up with two suspensions from this, I stress could.

I've taken care of several posts wishing injury on Matt Cooke, or hoping the situation is worse, or other things along similar lines.

From this point on, if you do that, expect infractions. I don't care how much some of you hate Matt Cooke, I don't care what Matt Cooke has done in the past, the bottom line is it's in the site rules that wishing injury is not acceptable on HFBoards, so don't do it.

seemed like initial point of contact was the body, which was also the apparent target.

I can't decide if Cooke embellished or not. If it was any other player I'd think it was automatically legit, but at the same time the way he reacted to the hit was a little weird. usually when you get cranked in the head/temple it's lights out.

Argue if its a hit to the head if you want but some people are forgetting its BLINDSIDE HEADSHOTS that the league is harping on - there is no way this is a hit from Cooke's blindside.

That's actually irrelevant now.

He hit Cooke right on the nose?

Did he do it on purpose?

One good thing about this hit being on Cooke is that we don't get 30 pages of misplaced rage and calls for 20 game suspensions.

I really doubt he gets suspended. Maybe a fine for the crosscheck to Engelland's face, which was way worse than the hit.

Taking away the names, it looks like it was an elbow under the chin of the Penguin player with intent. The jumping/boarding hit by the Pengyuin after that head hit looked worse than what happened to Cooke to be honest.
