The reason why I'm mad at the refs is because the Kings did not earn either penalty. They were both a result of incidental contact. In that case, they should have let them play.

The Kings were setting picks all game.
I don't know what you're trying to prove. I have no idea why Torts and Macdonagh said what they said.

If you go back to what I said in previous posts, I have never been a fan -- win or lose -- of weak calls in overtime, or foul shots to decide a hard fought game. And the replay clearly shows Mitchell helped the call.

You can say that there is a hold or interference on every shift. In my opinion, unless it takes away a legit scoring chance in OT, keep the whistle in your pocket or whistle Mitchell for diving as well.

"MUCH" better? Meh. The Rangers are a good team, and they're capable of winning any night; if this was last year, yeah, maybe I give them the BOD. But not now. No more. You don't get partial credit when stupid mistakes prevail.
The Ranger defense isn't terrible but we were playing Eminger, who was supposed to be the 7th man, and Erixon, who was already sent to the AHL and we had no Staal while they had Doughty and Johnson. Johnson isn't much defensively but he provides offense from the back that we just don't have and thats another dimension of their defense that we have no answer to at all.

Maybe the caps on the much was pushing it but they have forward depth that we can't match in my opinion and without Staal their D is way ahead of ours.

Fun fact - Gaborik has scored a goal in each of the games he's played against the Kings as a Ranger.

12 guys that will work pretty hard most of the time.

Agree

Do you Ranger-fans remember Ulf Nilsson? He used to play for the Rangers in the
70 `s alongside Hull. He is a huge fan of Zuccarello.

He was shaking his head when he saw Zuccarello playing in line with Rupp and Christensen. He thinks Torts is totally wasting his talent by not putting him in lines with more "creative and offensive" players.

How many points would St. Louis get if he played with Rupp and Christensen ?

I am still not convinced that Zuccarello is good enough for NHL but we will never find out if Torts again will ruin his confidence. I think it will not be long time before Zuccarello will be sent down to AHL again since its impossible to make magic in 5-7 minutes of playtime in the 4 th line.

Agreed. I'm not sure that MZA will make it in the NHL, but this lineup is pretty much rigged to guarantee failure for him.

While there are some moving parts that Torts still needs to figure out, I don't get why we're not at least seeing the following constants:

____-Richards-Gaborik
____-Anisimov-Callahan
____-Stepan-____
Rupp-Boyle-Prust

...with Dubi, WW, Feds and MZA as the moving parts that need to be slotted in. The fact of the matter is that, even without any trades, by next year 3 of those 4 may be replaced, but in the meantime it doesn't do the team any favors to have other guys out of position.

I feel that MZA should get at least one game on the top line with Richards and Gaborik when Staal gets back. We all know it won't be a defensive sound line, but if they score twice as much as they let in; it's better than now, and I think that is the line where Rangers can get the most out of Zuccarello, 'cause the kids got talent, but he needs to play with goal scorers to put that skill and vision to good use. If not, they might as well trade him for a grinder and a pick.
