Jeff Woywitka - Claimed off waivers by the Rangers
Blair Betts - Does not pass physical, returned to the Flyers
Chris Campoli - Plays half a game, is now out for several months
Once again the reactions are funnier than the actuality.
Meh, I think people are more fustrated with the string of luck regarding hurt players the Canadiens have had in the last two years. Hell just these pre-season and the first game we've missed now Campoli, Eller, Leblanc, Bournival(for a period), Nash, now Betts. Conboy also out. Terrible luck.

If I were Erik Cole, I'd be worried.

He has Mathieu "Mr. Routinely gets hurt every pre season" Carles number. That already has me worried.

Any sense of why this took so long to come to light?
Betts was playing with the flyers through the preseason and practicing with the team up until he was waived, so if there was an injury, it was either undiagnosed by the team or minor enough that he was playing through it. I don't really see why the team would have to "explain" themselves.
This isn't a case of cap circumvention--the Flyers have Matt Walker's 1.7 million ready to dump to the AHL if needed. The team was trying to free up a contract spot for Couturier.
I don't really see how it has taken that long, what 4 or 5 days?
He was not clear for game 1, nor was he cleared to practice. At this point the Habs decided that he was too much of damaged goods to take on his contract.

Sorry, I was unclear. My question, I guess, is when the physical took place. Sending him back now implies he just failed the physical. If he had the physical 5 days ago, then why would he only be getting sent back now?
I would have thought that would be the first thing a team does after claiming a player?
