They'll all be traded at the deadline for Jamie Langenbrunner for the playoff run. Then Homer will wake up and turn on ESPN and find out what Clarke did in his 45 minute reign.

Eh, I don't see the big deal. He's just not getting any time on special teams right now, that's it.

Only second game of the season and already a shutout. That didn't happen a single time last season.

Now I just need to find time to watch these games.

The team really needs to work on face offs. Briere is where he usually is, Giroux I had hoped would have improved in the off season, and Couts is a kid, but he will get better, much better with age

What's this "shutout" everyone seems to be talking about? I do not recognize this term.

I don't think read is going to wear down as much as the other rooks. He's 25 and more physically ready then the others

At what point has he played a 82 game season?

All 3 of them. Read's more developed physically than most rookies, he'll be alright.

Apparently being realistic is a crime.

Fine then, we are 2-0 with a shutout. Clearly nothing will change or go wrong and the cup will be ours by December!!

You're not allowed to be a realist. You should know that. Pointing out flaws is illegal. It's only green grass and sunshine until a loss comes and everyone is jumping ship.

Our rookies are playing limited roles though, they are not playing 20 minutes a night they should be fine. It is usually rookies that start hot scoring in bunches, therefore getting top line ice time that burn out at the end of the year. They need to start playing sometime, and being role players on the third line is the perfect way to ease them into the mix imo.

I agree. But we have talent in the system where we can cycle guys in and out to give them a couple games out. There's no reason these kids should be playing 82 games (same goes for Pronger, Kimmo, Jagr). Cycle in Akeson, Zolnierczyk, Rinaldo, Sestito, Wellwood, Testwuide, Holmstrom, and Shelley.

You know as well as anyone that the playoffs don't begin until April, let alone the Stanley Cup Final.

Not this year. The other teams will be in such awe, they'll forfeit this season to us somewhere around Hanukkah, and then it will be just one big celebration ceremony that will last until the puck drops again next October. And somehow the lightning will stay lit the entire time.

Yet it will still be a shorter celebration than what we saw before the Bruins game
