For now I see it like he's been given another chance.
But honestly, I see him playing 3rd line minutes after one period.

My prediction is still that he's going to be gone by the end of the year.

Suppose he scores more goals than Cole or Cammalleri.

Yes. Absolutely.

We finally have some offensive depth for once and we'd pretty much suck offensively again without it.

If Spacek and Cammalleri are out for the opener, what will the lineup look like?

Moen-Plekanec-Cole
Pacioretty-Gomez-Gionta
Kostitsyn-Desharnais-Darche
Engqvist-Eller-Blunden

Emelin-Subban
Gorges-Diaz
Gill-Weber

houla, is that right?

I pretty much agree with your lines, and how about...

Blunden? Maybe he will be given a chance?
Madden? Any gas left in the tank?
McCabe? Maybe Habs will acquire McCabe soon?!! (I actually want to see more of Weber's very accurate shot!). So, acquire McCabe to start as #7dman?!

A.Kosts/Desharnais-Plekanec-Cole
Pacioretty-Gomez-Gionta
Desharnais/A.Kosts-Eller-Blunden?/Darche
Moen-Madden/Engqvist-Darche/Blunden?

Gill-Subban
Gorges-Weber/Diaz
Emelin-Weber/Diaz/McCabe?McCabe?

Moen/darche-Plekanec-Cole
Pacioretty-Gomez-Gionta
Desharnais-Eller-Kostitsyn
White-Engqvist-Darche/moen

Subban-Gill
Gorges-Emelin
Weber-Diaz

Use the top two the most with Emelin being subbed for whomever has a strong game and then use the third exlcusively for pp or sheltered minutes

Price
Budaj

(if price goes down we are so ****ed, we may as way say hello to Yakupov)

If we fill the spots from within;

I'm guessing as far as forwards go, you have Palushaj and Blunden as the most likely candidates. As far as a defenseman goes, probably St-Denis.

So we just have to figure out the question as to where Yannick Weber will play. If he coach wants to dress 7 defenseman, for insurance purposes, I could see St-Denis getting the call.

Anyone else really excited for Eller to come back? For me he is a huge piece to this team.

Hockeyinsideout has Eller practicing on the wing with Palushaj and Enqvsit.

Could be to ease him in slowly, he had no preseason and was just reasonably recently cleared for contact.

Eller is a centreman, not a winger.

We have seen this experiment before, and it failed. Much like Moen on the first line again and again...

When will JM realize...Eller is best suited for centre!!! Not DD!!

I understand that Eller has to be 'eased' into the swing of things but I do think we need to put him at centre. His size and puck protection is needed up the middle (DD is too small for centre IMO).

He will eventually be back at center, when he takes over his expected position as 3rd line center. For now he just needs to get back into game mode with as little responsibility as possible. I bet he'll still end up taking a few face-offs anyhow. Remember, this is a 4-5 games balancing act until Cammy comes back. Very little, except for the Gomez line, will be the same when he comes back.

Maybe that's just me, but I prefer having a player that was just recently cleared to play after surgery on the bottom lines for a few games, taking precautions, then having him on the first two lines playing a lot right off the bat. I believe it's better for the player's overall injury prevention and recuperation.

Seeing Desharnais struggling on faceoffs and in the defensive zone I don't think it will be long before seeing Eller at the center position, I just think for his first (remember he didn't played in the preseason at all) he need to give him less responsabilities. The guy need to test himself and get to the speed of the game.

Everybody is healthy, who are your defensive pairings?

We have so many defensemen atm, the choice is hard

I'd go with

Markov - Emelin
Gill - Subban
Gorges - Weber

Leave out : Diaz, Campoli, Spacek

Lol at putting Emelin in the top 6 when everyone is healthy.

Markov Gorges
Gill Subban
Campoli Weber

Those would be my duos.

I doubt Weber plays over Spacek.

I'd love to see Gorges and Subban as the top pairing, playing against the opposition's best. Would give time for Markov to get back to form, with less responsibility. The only problem I see with this is there won't be enough spots on the left side. Gill will stay in the line-up and I don't think anyone wants to see Spacek on the right side. Has Campoli ever played on the right?

Besides what's the chances everyone will be healthy at one time.
