He was an injury prone mess his entire draft year and junior career. We completely lucked out with him last year but the injuries I guess are catching up to him again. Unfortunately

He's been banged up, so they may be letting him rest today. Wouldn't be a bad idea.

I'm sure they also want to get a look at Woywitka.

I think he'll bounce back, imagine the injury issues are a pain in the butt hopefully not serious though.

Wolski needs to sit until his groin heals.

NYDNRangers Pat Leonard

As Rangers begin in Greenburgh, don't see Wojtek Wolski (groin) or Michael Sauer (probably a maintenance day for shoulder) on ice

Lol it's like your overreacting to an overreaction that isn't even there. Everyone's being pretty calm haha it's just that Sauer's had so much trouble so we are being wary is all.

I was overreacting to an overreaction that didn't happen. Sorry for being over reactive.

I love Sauer but I DONT love his injuries. He played very welll for us last year and was not injury prone. I just hope he doesnt continue to be injured all the time.

Now that being said, I seen his shoulder injury. Nothing you could do about that. He was checked into the boards and fell HARD into the boards shoulder first. I suffer fro,m shoulder tears all the time. Three surgeries in and they still tear like warm butter. So I hope he doesnt experience the same fate I did.

Here is hoping Sauer stays healthy and forms into that role we so loved him in!

What information do you have that he has suffered a new injury?

I said it when Woywitka(sp) was picked up on waivers it probably had more to do with them being uncomfortable with Sauer's health ON TOP OF the Staal situation than just Staal being out for awhile...seems to me that we'd be OK with Girardi, Sauer, McD, MDZ, Erixon, Eminger and then Bell, Bickel, Valentenko (cleared waivers and wont have to clear again for another month i think?)

Disagree. The second post refers to "injuries I guess are catching up to him again. Unfortunately". Based on what, the fact that he is getting a day off to rest while recuperating from a SINGLE injury he got a week ago? Seems needlessly sensational to me.

Hopefully just a maintenance day like people have said, I am sure if it was something else we would have heard about it.

When do we expect Staal back anyway?

We don't. As of right now we should expect no recovery in the immediate future. With concussions no one knows, so best thing is to just expect nothing.

That's speculation by Gross given Sauer isn't practicing. He could still play tomorrow.

The guy has yet to practice all week. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that his speculating is probably spot on.
