I remember reading about that injury in pre-season and gulped ... groin injuries are easily aggravated and sometimes take months to heal properly. This layoff until Thursday may help..... but back-to-back games may be a problem and we could see Emery start a game sooner rather than later.
Club, that makes sense. As for the post, sadly, it's not. I think Emery facing 30+ shots is going to give up 5+ goals every time if he isn't pulled beforehand. I really hope I'm wrong.
I don't think you hope you are wrong at all. If CC needs to sit out to let this heal, this is exactly why it was important to have Emery around. And please don't bother to respond to this; we all know, ad nauseum, your views.
It may be minor now but anyone that's ever had a groin injury knows that not only does it nag and not really ever go away without complete rest but it's also not all that hard to tweak and make it worse.
Minor or not, a groin injury is about the worst injury a goaltender can have.
Hopefully it stays that way, but I know it's going to be in the back of my mind all season until I hear it's completely gone away. Could be worse. It could be serious now, but it's not. Hopefully it doesn't become worse.
