Hamilton is devoid of letig NHL prospects at this point. Leblanc's not playing. Nash is out long term. First time in a while that the Dogs have been so reliant on proven minor league talent. No shame in it, but it really brings to light the gap in our prospect pool. There are players to get excited about, but right now basically every prospect that's close to NHL ready is in it.
Edit- to those who prefer Blunden, he may be big and strong and all that stuff, but he can't skate. JM won't play him.
Couldn't any more false. Blunden "trademarks" are his speed and size.
Palushaj Plekanec Cole or Moen Plekanec Cole
Pacioretty Gomez Gionta
Moen Eller Kostitsyn(worked great last year) or Palushaj Eller Kostitsyn
Desharnais Engqvist Darche.
Desharnais played better last game, but he really seems to struggle at the center position in the defensive zone. Last year it wasn't as noticable because he got 4th line duties at even-strength. This year he is being matched up with the opposing team's second or third line. He's struggled defensively in pre-season and the last two games with increased responsibility at center. I'd like to see him play wing for now.
I would prefer for the offense to be balanced. Also I want Eller playing with an actual scoring winger. A lot of his plays last year went unfinished because he played with grinders.
Also give Palushaj top duty or put him with Kostitsyn and Eller. Let's see what he can do in an offensive role. He's an offensive minded prospect, so let's give him the opportunity to show what he can do.
Are people really not understanding that it was the only logical choice? That's a no-brainer.
I know it's freaking bizarre!
What do you think WS? Palushaj on the 3rd line for an offensive depth type of role or on the second/first line to try and balance the offense for thursday's game(assuming that Kostitsyn gets put on the third with Eller)?

I clearly don't see Palushaj with DD. So do whatever you want and if it also means putting Palushaj in the top 6....I wouldn't be against it? Why, 'cause what we need is an immediate fix and often will you see young guys coming, fire all cylinders for a couple of games and then fade out.....Well hopefully, he wouldn't be here the day he fades out, we wouldn't need him anymore. But that's not what's going to happen, I see Palushaj on the 4th, with Eller, there's NO WAY Lars get in a 3rd line right away.

Exactly, we needed to replace missing offence with some potential offence. A Blunden call up puts Moen in the top 6, we don't want or need that for 2 weeks.

People are missing the point, Kostitsyn is the logical replacement for Cammaleri and Eller in turn is the replacement for Kostitsyn. Palushaj is there to replace Weber be in the press box for emergency use if Spacek is ok.
We have a forward injured...why the facepalm? You do realize if we don't call up a player we have only 11 playable forwards next game and 6 playable defensemen...just incase you can't do math, it means we'll be playing with 1 less player in the lineup...
I can do math. So far we lose 1,5 players per game therefore we may need to call up about 120 players this season so yeah Palushaj grab a stick go make it happen! Loving the kids getting this chance!
So you really give the player, who has been the best for us so far this year, Yannick Weber, no chance at all?
I prefer him to both Diaz & Emelin at this point. He's proved more than both of them. I also don't hate him being dressed as a forward so we have extra depth if we need it on defense, as well as the point on the PP.Markov, Subban, Campoli, and Weber is a pretty awesome top-4 for the PP.
Not to mention, Spacek would probably draw into the lineup as well. With a completely healthy roster, I'd think we'd probably have something like;
- I was a bit undecided between line-up #1 and line-up #2. I liked Kostitsyn's and Ellers chemistry last year. Palushaj and Eller also have played together before (St. Louis) so that may make him more comfortable.
Palushaj got better as the pre season wore on so its not a surprising call-up by any means. That being said, I think palushaj will always be a fringe nhler. Lets just hope for this short stretch, that we get the most out of him.
