I'd assume that, given Edmonton's involvement and the media attention it received, eventually the outcome will be made public.

Betts was a waiver claim, not a trade. Likely different rules considering there's another player involved.

Well, that's fine. We can wait and see. Hopefully we hear something one way or another.

Penner with a full practice today, according to Hammond. 2nd line with Brown/MR for now.

Because he is a guy who put up 30/30 two years back with Sam Gagner as his center and now he's slated to play with Kopitar in a contract year?

Richardson's career high is 27 points and he's going to get third line ice time at best. Do you really think he outscores Penner?

Word of advice:don't listen to Ron Swanson.

Not sure it's been mentioned yet, but Penner is back against the Devils playing on the 2nd line with Richards and Brown (Per Jim Fox tweet).

Some plug hit Doughty, Penner jumped him, got a fighting major, instigator and a misconduct. Reports indicate he hurt his hand in the fight.

Damn it! How retarded is that guy? Coming off an injury and involved into a fight after 24 seconds

He jumped in and defended one of our stars. Granted, DD should have never been in that position, but the point is Penner jumped in and defended him, not went to the locker room for a Harvey burger while play was stopped. We wanted him to show intensity, this is part of it. Aside from the hand contusion part, I was excited to see Penner jump in and defend his teammate. Playing for the crest is what it's all about and Penner did that. Good boy Dustin!

Agreed. There is no way you can put any kind of blame on Penner for defending Doughty.

Yeah, Penner's been pretty consistent with that throughout his career. Seems to only fight when his teammates were done wrong. I am glad he did it for the Kings like he did when Doughty lined up Hall (also a clean hit though just like this time).

He did the right thing. Just sucks that he got hurt as a reward for doing so.

Right now we don't know if it is the hand injury or if his old "lower-body" injury is back. I would bet it is the groin injury that is back.

Is it really the right thing to start a fight after a clean hit? How did a scrub Rinaldo pick off two top players with one hit? Dumb play in my opinion. Doughty should know better than to cut across the middle of the ice with his head down. Penner should stand up for his teammates after a dirty play. Time to start tracking games lost to injury....

**** happens, can't really blame Rinaldo.

If Penner needs to be shut down for a week or two, so be it. I want him 100% upon return.
