I'd be willing to bet this groin injury played at least a small role in Emery getting the nod as backup goalie. In case Craw goes down for a while, MTP's situation probably happens.

I think CC knows what is best for him. If he plays the next 2 games, I'm sure that this won't haunt us

I wish the extent of Crawford's injury was better known. He could just be saying "he's fine" but then he'll miss 20 games or something because the injury wasn't nursed the right way.

I think we can get by with Emery against the Jets

Yesterday, Q certainly was downplaying the situation with Crawford…. Saying he will back on the ice today. If he is, I believe him, otherwise.........

Hopefully it really is no big deal, but as already pointed out, a groin injury can be unpredictable and easily aggravated.

I doubt he would have played on back to back nights if it was a problem at all.

Doesn't sound like any kind of deal at all.

@Chris Kuc
coach Joel Quenneville said goalie Corey Crawford, who missed second practice in a row, "should be alright" to start vs. Jets.

Wonder why this wasn't discussed only as a "lower body injury".

I hate to say this, but if we can't win against the Jets with Emery - we will not see a W with Emery in net

The Jets make a strong push for Yakupov

Crawford, Salak, and ASU Goalie are practicing today. No Emery though.

Since it is only the Jets, maybe the ASU guy gets the call Thursday?

When did I say they were a good team?

They are not the worst, by far. Ottawa, Florida, New York Islanders, Edmonton, Colorado, and you could probably throw Dallas and Phoenix in there as teams that are jsut as bad, if not worse than Winnipeg.

Not that it matters, because Emery isn't playing anyway.

The orginal statement was one of the stupidest things I have read here.

Jets is the worst team in the NHL by a country mile.

Ottawa is the only team you could begin to make an argument for.

Any team can outplay us on any given night. See Edmonton from last year as proof. I want Crawford out there tomorrow.
