Trade involving a prospect has just been made. Since it's required to post any trades involving prospects in this topic (so I can properly keep track of the prospects in the OP), I'm posting it here. Mikael Granlund (prospect), Mike Ribeiro, and Kari Lehtonen for Henrik Sedin and Nicklas Backstrom (the goalie).

IIRC, any successful veto requires six votes (less then half the league) and has six days to pass. So get to voting if you don't like the trade.

By the way I'm shopping Streit, Green, Del Zotto, Havlat, J. Jokinen, Konopka, and Fleischmann for top-end prospects and top-end young talent. So anyone that needs help on defense or wing, I'm your man.

I'll be sending you some offers JVR.

Holy damn, you are really looking to the future aren't you?

Which of my prospects will make you desire trading Green to me? I'm willing to trade Lindros if need be.

Also, Ribeiro is available assuming that trade goes through and Hiller is available if I get a satisfying return. So if you need a starting goaltender then come to me.

Only one I'm really interested in is Connolly. He alone isn't worth Green so you'd have to add.

Sent you a trade offer. Think it's more then fair for you and should be enough to pry Staal from ya finally.

Feel free to add Lindros by the way.

I haven't looked yet, but it's going to be difficult to get Staal. I knew you'd want Connolly. Let's see what we have here.

I'll pry Staal from your cold, dead hands if I have to son. I'm Bettman. I can do anything.

This trade has costed me Lindros. The Beef is displeased.

I'm emotionally damaged now. Staal won me quite a few matchups in fantasy last year

I'm pretty sure he was my first rounder, too.

I've gained E. Staal, Granlund, Connolly, and Lehtonen in the last half hour and the only players I've traded under 30 years of age are Brassard (non-keeper for me) and Green. Think I'm kicking this rebuilds ass.

Youth movement and roster shakeup '11. Taking after the Flyers.

That leaves Fleischmann, Konopka, Streit, Del Zotto, Zajac, J. Jokinen, and Ribeiro left to trade. Sure I can net something out of that. Ribeiro is a 70 point center, Zajac is a 60 to 70 point center, and Streit is a 50 point d-man.

I was excited about having Connolly, too. I think Green's got a few more good years in him, so whatever

Anyways, the two trades:

Bettman receives: Mikael Grandlund, Mike Ribeiro, and Kari Lehtonen

Loser receives: Henrik Sedin and Nicklas Backstrom

as well as

Bettman receives: Brett Connolly and Eric Staal

Beef Invictus receives: Martin Havlat, Mike Green, and Derick Brassard

Get to veto'ing if you don't like the trades.

Also, just to let everyone know, I'm pretty damn set on changing the value of PIMs once this season is over. To be fair, I meant for the PIM point values to be half as much as they currently are, but I didn't realize it till the season started.

I mean, Konopka got me like 4.5 points (equal to two goals and half an assist IIRC) for 17 PIMs just this week. That's kind of insane. If ya'll disagree on changing the value of PIMs come next off-season then I won't do it of course, but I thought I would mention it now to let everyone chew on it.

I'd be fine with that.

I've never liked that PIMs are considered a good thing in most fantasy leagues, that **** doesn't make sense. It's like having a football league that rewards personal fouls or a baseball league that gives points for striking out.

I agree, but it's a pretty standard cat and most leagues use it to give value to depth players like Konopka for instance so that they have some value. That and some people believe that fighting (which is where a lot of PIMs come from) is a good thing for a player to do.

Not that I necessarily believe in either of those things, but I just included PIMs in this league since it's a pretty standard cat in most leagues and because this league was so deep that guys like Konopka needed some value.

Heck, if most of the league wanted the PIM values changed right now I'd do it because it's bothering me that much (note that I said only if most of the league agrees though).

Any free agent is available for pickup excluding 2012 draftees such as Yakupov for instance.

Please note, however, that he will not count as one of your prospects since he was not taken in the prospect draft. Only players taken in the prospect draft count as prospects. This means that in order to keep Gardiner for next year he'll have to take up one of your nine keeper spots.

Ok gotcha... The one thing i don't like is that the week it takes for the trade to go down... thats a long time IMO

Yeah, I think it's a bit long too, but I wasn't sure how active everyone would be when the season started so I had to make it a bit on the long-side just for caution's sake.

I'll probably lower it next season or even this season if everyone consents to it.
