Too bad they weren't $7,357,143 below the Cap.

Why trade for him? Did Dallas need to have Nystrom's full salary on the books to reach the cap floor or something? They could've just claimed him on re-entry and paid him $700,000 for each of the next 2 years instead of paying him 1.4 million for this and next season..

I'm not up on all the rules so some explanation would be appreciated.

It's because Dallas are paying part of Avery's salary & now that he's in the minors in Hartford. They had to get up to the Cap right away.

It's cause of the punches he got fed last season that broke his face. Now even pucks to the mask will cause him injury.

I expect TSN will soon have an update about how this affects Crosby's return date

I drilled a goalie in the head with a slapshot at the weekend (accidentally), took his helmet clean off his head. He said he keeps the straps loose so he can shake the helmet off if needed. Do all goalies do this and if so, could it help absorb some of the impact from a hard shot to the mask or would it not make much difference?

I'll admit I enjoy watching the Flyers but the Bruins? Maybe it's just bias but I don't enjoy watching them at all.

Anyone else watching Bruins and Carolina? The amount of crap that the Bruins get away with after the whistle is disgusting.

I've been flipping back and forth between the two games. The Bruins have been putting on s lot of pressure but Cam Ward has kept the puckout thus far. Luongo hasn't been impressive. I'll stick my neck out and say that Price is better.

Gonchar has never been the same player since Ovechkin took his knee out the year the Pens won the cup.He came back and played for the rest of the playoffs but he was never the same player. He started shying away from going after the puckcarrier and his contact was next to zero.
