Yeah man, no one wants a perennial 25 goal scorer. Pull your head out........

What a strange period that was. I'll take it though.

To begin with the negative. Hartnell really shouldn't take stupid penalties when he's not seeing any special teams play... Brière can't find his game either, as of yet. That pk attempt we had was brutal. Chasing the puck, not finding our positions and the goal was almost inevitable.

More is on the positive side though, of course. The 4th line has had a few really good shifts. JvR looks a lot livelier tonight than he did the first two games, and that goal was perfect. The 2nd pp goal we had was also great, Giroux can be all kinds of awesome. Nice to see Pronger back to his regular self too, that game against Boston scared me a little.

Jagr doesn't even lose the puck when he outdangles himself.

We continue to have Timonen and Carle out there on the 2nd pp unit. I don't think I agree with that. Maybe they want Timonen to shoot more?

I really thought you guys were overhyping him before he came here. But he's quickly become one of everyone's favorites.

I'm NOT saying it as him being a crappy player, I'm saying because I have literally no idea who needs someone like him and at his cap hit. He can put up 40 to 60 some points a season and I'm sure there is a team that could take him. Wasn't Dallas looking for someone?

I have to say, Philly is now my 2nd favorite team...so great to watch. Giroux is simply unbelievable.

Great D, great goaltending, good offence = contenders.

My thoughts on Hartnell? Trade him to whoever offer the best defense prospect unless you can get a 1st from a bad-decent team (aka a team full of Garrett Klotz's )

Like I said earlier up in the stars, The Leafs want him: Hard.

Leafs want goals and penalties. Very much.

Yeah, cause Hartnell is such a dime a dozen player in todays NHL.

We're even winning in the faceoff circle so far. Who would've guessed that against a team with Malhotra and Lapierre?

Malhotra is winning his battle so far though...

Was he getting this much ice time in LA? The guy is a flat out stud. Talk about net presence! I have a blank jersey and I know who's name and number it is going to be. I am a fan of Hartnell. But he has to get his head out of his ass. You cannot keep giving this team PP chances, they are deadly. There is no way you can defend his play. I would sit his butt on the bench the rest of the game. What can you say about G?!! He is simply amazing. His vision and hands are something to marvel at. Read looks like he has been in the league for years. I cannot wait for Schenn to get up here when he is ready.

Hartnell is reminding me of why some people want him traded.

Isn't the most skilled of players, only capable of 60 points max, fills a role that's kind of now already filled by Simmonds and JVR (screening the goalie), and he routinely leads the league in minor penalties.

Just saw the replay on Hartnell. That's dumb. If he doesn't start contributing something positive he won't be worth it.

Meaning if he doesn't start producing points he's useless because that's pretty much his only potential redeeming value it seems.

Sad to see Simmer go but I can tell he'll be great with you guys. Philly is quickly becoming my guilty Eastern pleasure.
