Alumni Game

Any word on who we'll be suiting up for this? Phillies apparently sent out a memo to season ticket holders confirming that this is happening. Considering most of our "legendary" players are quite elderly at this point, I'm quite interested to see who plays.

Maybe this is finally the year where bygones become bygones and Lindros shows his face...

Brind'Amour would be amazing to see. I'd also go nuts if Primeau played.

The Flyers have an active alumni group, so likely they'll act as a conduit in the matter.

When Philadelphia hosted the NHL All-Star game in the early 90s, there was an NHL vs. Flyers' Old-Timers Game.

Does Lindros' video message at the last Spectrum game not count? Those were pretty much bygones being bygones.

Only because the Flyers have been selling 1974 for 20 years.

They also had a similar game in 1981. Larry Zeidel scored the winner for the Flyers. I'm thinking most of the players in that alumni game will not play at the Bank.
But, yeah. The Flyers alumni could probably quickly whip up a couple of teams, as they usually have an overflowing roster for their charity events (though time demands can cut them down a few in numbers).

Sorry for the double post....

I agree that the cup winners might be getting a little old, but I am sure some will still try to play. But I would love to see them really focus on the teams from the 80's & 90's which is when I started really loving hockey and the flyers...

Forwards:

1. Lindros (486 games played as a flyer)
2. LeClair (649)
3. Brind'Amour (633)
4. Recchi (602)
5. Propp (790)
6. Tocchet (621)
7. Eklund (589)
8. Poulin (467)
9. Kerr (601)
10. Primeau (312)
11. Renberg (366)
12. Brown (552)
13. Sinisalo (526)
14. Sutter (555)
15. Craven (523)

Defenseman:

1. Howe (592)
2. Desjardins (738)
3. Samuelsson (545)
4. Svoboda (232)
5. Therien (753)
6. Hatcher (203)
7. Yushkevich (215)
8. Crossman (392)
9. Galley (236)
10. Richardson (387)

Goalie:

1. Hextall (489)
2. Peeters (178)
3. Froese (144)
4. Roussel (139)

Tocchet said on 610 a few weeks ago that he's playing. He also played for the Pens last year in their WC Alumni game.

Really hoping Lindros suits up, maybe even Lappy will strap on some pads...

There used to be a Flyers Alumni team that would travel around and play mens' league teams for charity. I wonder if it still exists.

He's talking about the guys who are still in the NHL with different teams. They're not going to take part in our alumni game.

Considering the time of the season, some people might be unavailable. But those close to home, Tocchet as mentioned, probably Chris Therien and Brian Propp, maybe Joe Paterson depending on the Phantoms' schedule, those are potential candidates.
