By my calculations, the Kings are at 50 contracts now, but since Roach, Toffoli, Weal are still in juniors, they don't count correct?

Correct, same with Andreoff. Junior players don't count towards the 50-contract limit.

Aren't they at 51 now with Czarnik being signed?

EDIT, nope 48 with Czarnik.

Dude is 5'8" and 24 years old and someone compared him to Simmonds! Ha. He spent part of last year in the ECHL...ouch.

If you remove the junior eligible guys and add in Czarnik, the Kings have 48 contracted players.

With 8 impending UFAs and 12 RFAs, the Kings will have plenty of breathing room. I'm sure some or most of the RFAs and some UFAs will return from this season.

It was only a two game stint, but it is expected for his conditioning to be off if he's taken time off away from the game. I've seen him play first hand and he stood out when I watched him play, he stands out with his hustle and grit and has some speed. Think Tony Granato, except maybe without his hands.

Here's an interesting video on Legein, compares his style to Sean Avery.

And a profile video on Legein:

It had been suggested that his drawback setback or any other way you want to put it was due to a personal disorder that had to do with his ability to handle certain situations emotionally. He has learned to deal with it and is trying to regain his hockey career. He has all of the skills to play in the NHL and be a very effective agitator. Even if he doesn't make it all the way back I like giving guys like this the chance. We do it for others who overcome similar disabilities, why not alleged emotional ones?

Better living through chemistry works for the mind too. Kudos to us for giving the kid a chance, even if it turns out to be a short one we will have at least tried him out.

The funny thing is that doing the right thing more often than not is what always leads to a true championship level team. We may not be there yet but we are molding ourselves in the manner of the kind of teams that are known for doing so.

Finally after decades we are seeing a glimpse of what it is like to have the kind of team that does the right thing while being built to become a long term contender. I may not like or understand all of DL's moves and or who he gives his loyalty to but I like the overall direction our team is going.

Whether SL makes it or not doesn't truly matter to me, what taking a chance on a player like him when you look at our overall line up says to me is a good thing.

What crap is that?

Just curious. What crap are you referring too? What "bad attitude" are you talking about also?

He has a rep of not getting along with coaches, and I vaguely recall an issue with some teammates as well before, but don't quote me on the teammate thing.

Some Flyers fans have mentioned about the coaching problem in the thread on the main board.

I read them. I just don't put any stock in them. This is the same team that has a few fans/media who blew the whole "dry island" thing out of proportion so I am gonna need more then a few fans doing the he said she said thing.

Those rumours/reports started before he ever was a Flyer.

I read one article where it was questioned and one where he asked for people to leave his father alone and allow him the space to make the decisions that he had to make. None of them said anything about coaching. The thing for me is that I have been around this kid and he has had an exceptional reputation. I just want to see something's in print that say he has a bad attitude since it has been awhile.

I am not going to jump on the neg band wagon simply because it is available is all I am saying.

Oh, I'll quote you on the teammate thing alright - to any and all that will listen!!

I'm gonna go to tell my 2 co-worker hockey buddies, RIGHT now! (and there's really nothing you can do about it)

stockpile picks. that is how successful org's continue to re-load every year at the draft. good move? hell yes. LA will pay a small salary to take a chance on a 2nd rounder that may pan out. if not then it gives Deano another pick. he has had good (in time this could turn out to be great) success on late round picks.

someone brought up the point that he moved up to nab Forbort with a similar extra pick shows what this type of move allows a GM to make.

Amazing how people can still find something to complain about when the Kings get a player AND a 6th round pick for NOTHING!

I've read reports that nothing is even better than cap space.

I think the Kings will regret giving up nothing so soon into the season.

What do you mean with nothing.

We make it possible for a player to stay in the big league and educates his skills
who would have to leave after 9 games.

I wouldnt call this nothing.

Just think Marco Sturm..... taking him off the hands made Boston a Stanley Cup winner. if we can't do steps forward at least dont help other teams doing it.

That is all i ak for.
