I love what Kovy is saying. "We had to go there for my wife" but in the end he chose New Jersey over L.A. as a place to live. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.
GO KINGS GO!!!!
His wife likes $$$$ too. The quote doesn't say anything about chosing living in NJ over LA.
Finally the season starts up again. I had almost completely forgotten about the Kovalchuk fiasco. In the end, I couldn't be happier about how it all worked out.

ditto.
however, i'm glad you guys snagged richards from philly

Don't worry, if you thought you had forgotten you will be politely reminded by Devils folk that you in fact HAVEN'T forgotten.
Be careful outside the arena in Newark and inside the arena in Philly
Have fun!
No worries. Been there and done it every Kings I-95 corridor road trip from NC to Boston, for years now. Never had a issue. Just represent humbly, dont act like a retard and dont piss off the natives.
I'll be the 6'3" Blonde dude with the 2001-2002 Third Jersey that says "NOCTURN" #76.
Have a good time! I hope you're not stuck on I-95.
Nah. We just had Brunch on Penn's Landing in Phi. Should be pulling into my Uncle's pad outside of Dumont in 2 hours. DC, Balt and Phi were smooth as silk.
I did however not drive my new Tux Black F150 FX4 Screw. lol. Didnt want to temp anyone in the parking lots with a key across the bed. Took my wifes 550 instead. There's nothing denoting the Kings on it. The truck however...lol.
Also, I sent you a pm last season to see if you wanted to get together for a watch party in RIC during the SCP. What happened?
Also, had to laugh at Parise and Kovalchuk not togther after everyone say Kovalchuk's bad year won't repeat since he will be playing with Parise.
The intention was never to play Kovalchuk with Parise. Both are top left wings in the league and can anchor their own line. That was a bad idea switching Kovy to RW last year. One of many terrible moments courtesy John MacLean.
A good amount of youth on forward for us. Keep an eye on #16 Josefson and #21 Tedenby. They are going to be a big part of our future.
It looks like we might see Pelley over Henrique and Janssen over Boulton tonight. Other than that, the lines should be the same as the first two games. Larsson is basically guaranteed to play. He was speared in the groin by Staal on Monday, but played the rest of the game. In an interview after the game when asked about the injury he said "I got a stick in the balls...it hurt.".
Well, I think he'll be good for Albany. He was outperformed by Larsson, Fayne, and Urbom and there were only 2 open spots. He wasn't bad, can move the puck OK, OK D zone coverage, he'd be a decent call-up in a pinch, but there's no full time roster spot for him in NJ unless there are multiple injuries.
Not saying NJ is more desirable than LA.. i'm sure LA has beautiful wealthy suburbs as well.

Shameless plug. Eddie Murphy uses the plumbing company I work for. Met him a few times, very nice guy from what I've experienced he gave my dad one of his "raw" jackets he wore on stage during that tour.
Eagerly awaiting the backlash of posts stating to trade JJ after the first GA, even if he isn't on the ice
Disappointed Gagne is on the top line and Penner on the 2nd. Gagne has been pretty invisible so far on that top line, so I don't see why you wouldnt put him on Richards line when they had chemistry going in preseason.

I am excited to get a view of Parise...our future #1 LW
In all honesty, I was very impressed by the little bit I saw of Tedenby last year...I'll keep an eye on him, josefson, and Larsson!
Gonna have to record the game and watch it late tonight. Should be a good one!
Edit: Whoa, Sykora and Elias on a line? What is this, 2001? Trade for Arnott!
It says that they checked out the area because there was a possiblity of him signing in LA. In the end there were 20 Million more reasons for Kovalchuk to sign with the Devils over the Kings.
Ok, so my assumption that it was because of money isn't completely subtantiated, but neither is your assumption that it was because of the area. (unless you have another article)
Any decision like this requires due diligence and I suppose living in LA may have been part of the decision, but you can't deny that the money had something to do with it (if not more to do with it)
Way too long between games, although I do enjoy having Center Ice and have been watching other games.
Mike Richards has 30 points in 40 career games vs. Devils, looking for a good night from him.

I am too. I saw them here in PHilly play together for over 4 years and Richards can find Gagne in his sleep. Gagne called what they had together 'magic' and I can vow to that having seen it. I am hoping once Gagne doesn't score in the new few, Murray will do the right thing and put them back together. Two preseason games wasn't enough.
Looking for the Kings to bust out tonight and put up a few, Kings 5-1

More like once Gagne doesn't score in the first period
I don't think he will be able to resist putting Penner back on the top line. For the short time they were together before the injuries hit, they were dangerous on nearly every shift.
