Jaques Martin on Hockeycentral says Markov should be skating again this week and he hopes he'll be ready to rejoin the team around the end of this month. Sorry if this information ruins the lamentations of the doomsday debbies.

I say we be extra care-ful and aim for sometime in Nov just to be safe.
EDIT: I just read on RDS...and it says the results from Dr. Andrews won't be back until end of this week, but that Markov won't need a 3rd operation.
I will play devil's advocate here for a minute. If the full results won't be back until end of week, how can he start skating this week?
Looks like some more rehabbing time. Must have had a setback due to his hard work. More confident we will see him before December now.
Markov is well past rehab. He was trying to get in NHL game shape when he got the swelling and setback...not doing rehab. Most of the rehab was done Feb-April.

They probably did a control MRI to see how healed the ligament is, if it's still partially torn... which would make the rehab longer and push back a comeback to games.
Doesn't mean he can't train, just that he has to be cautions until they're certain it's completely healed.
God dammit we just gaved him a three years contract and he's gonna miss the home opener bcuz mister Markov decided to go play golf in Florida....TRADE HIM

Well it probably means, despite all the amateur doctors around here who don't actually know what's going on and just predict based on the worst case scenario, that the inflammation of the knee has subsided or at least isn't causing him any pain or lack of movement.
All this secrecy isn't the club trying to hide anything from the fans, but is their way of being conservative as possible so no pressure forces an early return.
I think we are all so anxious to see what happens that by default everyone is expecting the worst when it hasn't even been a year yet.

You are correct, I was listening as well, great news

Impossible HFers are saying late December.
All kidding aside, this is terrific news for the Habs and us the fans. I can't wait to have the general back !

What they said on 98.5 was ' a long time', or something of that nature IIRC. Somebody else who heard what they said a bit better can clarify. I wasn't paying much attention.
