If we're using Boston as a measuring stick than we're doing great so far!

They really need to trade a couple of assets for a legitimate Top 4 defenceman. Preferably someone young and defensive minded. Just terrible in their own zone.

Vets need to step up, Subban included.
Rookies were fine. Eller, Pleky and AK46 were good.

I just don't understand..

We're losing 4-1, why not experiment with the clearly HORRIFIC POWERPLAY. Jacques Martin juggles the lines (stupidly I might add).. and yet he keeps the powerplay units in tact.

Why not try Emelin on the point of the PP?
Why not give Eller a chance on the PP as a center?
Why not give Eller some offensive wingers?

I would've demoted Gomez and tried to see what Eller could do with some offensive wingers.

I would've realized my PP sucks ass and put my best center back down on the half-boards. I might try that offensive D from the KHL to run the PP and see what he brings to it.

and the powerplay....

Subban NEEDS to stop trying to do everything. Just play smart hockey. The way you know you can.

Going down 3-1 so early sucked and drained the energy from the team.

Oh well, let's get 'em next time.

missed it. sounds like I chose a good one to miss.

I think we may finish somewhere between 6th and 10th. It's going to be hard watching 82 games of this hot and cold stuff. I suggest people pace themselves. Learn how to cook or do ikebana or something, but don't watch too much regular season hockey.

Maybe the Habs celebrated their Season Opener with plenty of pre-game cake and champagne?

Embarrassing effort.

Plekanec on point on the PP has been a collosal disaster.

Cole is already this years Kostitsyn. Game 1, third line. Game 2 first line. Game three benched. Add in minimal PP time.

Subban's maturity level seems to have regressed. Enough dipsy doodling and screwing around with the puck.

It's just one game bros, take it easy. We've been slow starters under JM.

i know this is on the players but there's no excuse for a lack of passion..that's now 3-8 including pre-season...
Muller was a big loss.
how long is Martin's shelf-life?
we all know gauthier won't fire him - they're a package deal. unless
molson came down and reminded him that his job was in jeopardy too.
sure i'm overreacting...but we've looked terrible this year...and martin's tactics / player selections have been idiotic.

Nice thread title WTK.. Quite appropriate after that debacle.

PG should make a public apology to the fans who paid to watch this effort..

Eller, Diaz, Gomez, Emelin, Weber and Desharnais were all good.
Moen, Engqvist and Plekanec were alright.
Subban, Gionta and Gill were very weak.

Positives are that we dominated them in faceoffs and we had many shots on goal. Bad defensively tonight and Price wasn't that impressive. Nothing to worry about, Flames wanted it more and Habs just didn't bring it. On to the next game!

What's a goal song ? Is it the song of a crowd ?

Need better effort from Gionta, Price, Subban and Gorges.

Our best players tonight were Yemelin Weber Eller Darche plus Pacioretty.

Not sure why people complain about the effort...they definitely need to play SMARTER...less penalities and more saves in the 1st...but the effort was definitely there, we had the puick for about 40 of 60 minutes.
