Unfortunately, my childhood team was gone. After some courting by Predators and Canes fans, I decided Raleigh was simply too far from here and that the Predators made the most sense. This is the first game I've watched but we've had some good chances and I like the team's hustle. Impressed from what I've seen and I know things will get better, especially if the Preds can land an elite goal-scorer.
And I dunno about Carolina, but I know like half the Preds games are apparently on TV in the Atlanta market this year. And plus there's always the Preds marketing plan towards Thrasher fans.....

He was taken off that line..it had zero to do with who was out when.

The Bad-
Craig Smith and Jon Blum looked like rookies
Cal O'Reilly sucks
Apparently the first home game is Saturday because there was not a team there
Rinne was not Rinne, decent but not spectacular

The Good-
The 3rd pairing is better with Eckholm
Crosby has not been hurt he is wearing 11 for the Predators
Colin Wilson and Kostitsyn looked good for the most part.
McGrattan was actually pretty decent for an enforcer.

At least the game was 2-2 when you take away the first period. And my god was the team terrible for 90% of the game.

Nice of Shane Doan to call Weber and Suter the best defensive tandem in the league.

I watched the game because of #15 and not saying he played well, but he nearly scored on two solid chances..those go in and you'd put him int he good pile.

Doan still my all-time favorite Thrasher. I feel like I just lost a girlfriend and I'm trying to move on with another girl but I still cherish those memories I had with my ex. haha.

Is trotz the kinda guy that will punt a guy off the top line if he errors in a game...or just a one off type thing?

They could have easily won this game. Saw some great chances around the goal that weren't capitalized on. I wouldn't be too discouraged. Just have to take advantage of scoring opportunities when they come and I saw more than a few.

Huh? Doan never played for the Thrashers. he was drafted by the Jets, and has always played for the Jets/Coyotes

And thanks to whoever stole my free t-shirt. I know it was free but I frown on thievery.

And Dierks Bentley has a firm handshake.

That was a heaping helping of suckage.

It looked like our forwards had no legs at all. Hate those long layoffs.

In honor of the lad behind me who got to see his first NHL game, here is my take on his 2nd grade book report on the game:

I saw an NHL team play. They are called the Coyotes. My team played them. My team gave me a free yellow dress. My team couldn't forecheck so they couldn't slow the rush, so the D backed off, so bad stuff happened. Then our forwards didn't move their legs to give the D outlet opportunities so turnovers resulted and more bad stuff happened. Then we did that a lot more. Then I got to go home.

P.S. We got some power plays so people could yell "Shoot" a bunch even when the puck hadn't been dropped. That was fun.

*facepalm*

I don't know why I thought he played for us. I was a kid the last time I was into hockey so I don't remember much about the players. I really need to catch up...

lol what. Shane Doan was drafted by the Jets and moved with that franchise tp Phoenix when they left winnipeg. Shane Doan has always been a Coyote, and most likely always will be.

When Spaling is in your top 6 and your team features McGratton, that happens. That is one of the worst forward groups iced in the league.

Ekholm is bad. Klein and Blum were terrible and couldn't get the puck out of the zone all night. Smith got caught not backchecking alot and look who got demoted off the top line.. O'Reilly is about as soft as you can get; he isn't a NHL player. Why even play Geoffrion if he is going to be with McGratton? Bergfors is one of the worst Predators forwards in the last 5 years or so.
