QFT. Paying him 4 million to play a few games and sit at home. I hope he's not in tambos long term plan, he'll be a waste of very valuable cap space in a few years.

He said it before his first pre-season game. He joked about it, saying, 'if i score, i just wont celebrate' or something like that.

Maybe it is better now but he did make it sound at that time like it was still a problem, and he was playing.

Holy overreaction Batman. Let's wait until there's some official word before we start throwing him to the wolves, shall we?

Nobody will deny the talent. He's been my favorite offensive player to watch for a while. Amazing creativity.

Still, he cannot be relied upon to be healthy anymore. That's just the way it is until he proves otherwise. He's not a player to build around.

Well at least we can say that our team was good defensively when they didn't have the puck for the most part.

Yes, we are talking about the same interview. He was not playing at the time when he said that. It wasn't that he couldn't physically lift his shoulder above his head, it was that he wasn't supposed to lift it over his head. There is a difference.

So what are you saying? It completely healed in the 12 hours between that interview and his first pre-season game?

If he has hurt his shoulder again his trade value is kaput at this point.

I would consider re-signing him, but only in the 1-2 year $4 mill (and that means $4 mill even, not a penny more) range and that's only if he even suits up for at least 50 games this year.

Worst thing about this is he finally looked like he was developing real chemistry with RNH and Hall.

If he is injured for any extended time this season Hemsky is looking at Simon Gagne as a comparable for a contract. Two years at $3.5 million per. Perhaps slightly more once age is factored in, but realistically, Hemsky has spent his prime on the injured reserve.

too bad, I thought he was good to go. It's like he injured his third shoulder. Hope it isn't too bad, just precautionary. He's looked pretty good the past few seasons, even if he's played about 70 games.

I noticed once he left, the first line died, then the rest of the team. Hall and RNH looked lost out there with a newbie on their right side. The line juggling was just nasty form then on.

No, I believe the interview wasn't before he played in a pre-season game but I may be wrong. I believe it was during training camp.

Either way my point was that what you said about him not being able to move his arm above his head is false.

Lets just wait to see what the deal is before we start trading him for Ryder + Halak + 2nd.

I'm a big supporter of trading him as you'll find, but lets just hold on to see what the extent, if any, there is to this injury.

He may have had soreness.

Doesn't Gaborik have the highest cap hit in the league?

Malkin has missed games because of soreness and I don't hear Pittsburgh fans whining.

Gaborik's played 138 games over the past two years and is a 40 goal scorer. The Rangers' took a gamble yeah, but he's not as big of a gamble as Hemsky.

Pittsburgh has an elite team Malkin or no Malkin. I'm sure those fans can manage.

Hey people, face reality, this team sucks without Hemsky. RNH and Hall can't carry this team. We don't have that true elite player in this team so get ready for more tankage. Maybe Yakupov can be our saviour, if not, we'll just tank a few more years.

If Hall or RNH was so great, why didn't they finish the game off? Same goes with MPS and Eberle, theses guys have all shown nothing so far. One garbage goal by RNH in game one and everyone was parading.

We need a healthy Hemsky or this team is going to get buried in the dumps for the 3rd straight year.

TSN showed Hemsky stretching his shoulder and wincing while on the bench. So it seems like he didnt get injured and hit the dressing room right from the ice.

Any word on the Edmonton sports radio?
