I'd be a pipe-dream to get Yakupov or Grigorenko.

We desperately need a good 1-on-1 player. There's not one on the team and outside of Avtsin in the AHL, I don't see one in our prospect pool either.

Yes and vertigo makes me want to jump out of my seat, twist wildly and infact contract vertigo. It was that powerful.

That being said, i dont think they were too worried about lyrics rather than tempo.

I thought the opening ceremonies were quite lame and lifeless and apparently Tony on TSN 990 was discussing it on the radio 15 min ago and said that he thought they were rushed and lifeless and it spread out into the game...

They also brought up a good point about a lot of nervous young guys on the blue line. Yemelin, Diaz, Webber, PK are all young and even though PK is something special, it was the first home game and he's still maybe nervous and wants to do too much for his own good like last season..

Anyways they will get more comfortable as the season goes on, but Campoli and Markov will be missed until then IMO...

As a result of last night's debacle and a poorly thought out wager, I was paraded around our school dressed head to toe in Flames gear. 450 children were witness to my shame.

Could have been much worse really. For starters, Boston gear...

Can I point out the good part of the evening?

No one was injured, except our pride. It's a first this season!

Have we finally hit the wall? Are fans of Montreal finally going to say "PRICES are too high!!!"

"Ice a boring little team that gets pushed around and we won't watch"

Good on you Montreal people.....Good on you.

I live in Nashville and can only see the Habs once every two years. I bought tickets a few seasons ago for myself and a bunch of friends in hopes to get them into hockey a bit. $125.00 a ticket a row back from the glass. 2-0 Preds win and the most boring effort from the Habs I'd ever seen.

Home opener 2012 and that's what they bring? 400.00? Hopefully there will be changes. This team needs help.

The reason that we have had substandard teams in Montreal for the past several years is that the owners have not suffered for it. The GMs and the coaches could put dog **** on the ice and people would still pack the Forum and now the Bell Centre because it was the "Montreal Canadiens".

So maybe now people are beginning to realize that the greatest sports franchise in the world is putting out an inferior product and still demanding top dollar to see mediocrity.

Heres hoping and praying that Molson wakes up to reality and that hockey is about more than just making him some money.

Thanks for the info. Great post!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Think of it this way, it could have been worse, they could have made you sit and re-watch the entire game while forcing your eyes to stay open.

Well, some good came out of it. Today's lines at practice had PK with Weber as defensive pair on the PP. Maybe frère Jacques finally woke up.

Edit: I just saw the other thread about the line changes, sorry for the redundancy. It's good news anyways.

You realize that scalpers are the ones that apparently said that right?
You realize this means scalpers BOUGHT the tickets from the Bell Center?
What is a ton of free tickets left??? 40? out of 20 000?..
You realize that yesterday was a sell out crowd?
Did you see any empty seats? Didn't seem like there was to me, didn't seem like the crowd was less loud either.

Don't get your hopes up.

It was a tough game to watch. You just didnt see the habs play that poorly very often last year.

I am concerned not only with the lack of experience on the blueline, but also with the team defense in general... that includes the forwards who are coming back too late and/or turning the puck over in their own zone.

Subban is not getting a whole lot of flack, but lets face it, he can and NEEDS to play much better and smarter in order for the team to get through this stretch of games with a depleted defense.

On the bright side, for all of gomez's faults, I'm appreciating the fact that he's actually driving to the net, looking for loose pucks rather than parking himself around the perimeter. If nothing else, he'll pot a few more goals and draw extra attention from the opposition... clearing some space for his linemates.

There were many seats in the reds that were empty, sometimes half of the rows were empty.
I was in the section 403, and I was wondering if they would call a full house for the home-opener. They never announced it but on the official box-score it said: "Attendance:21 273"

So probably scalpers that didn't get to sell.

I had a feeling they would lose this game. For some reason this team never comes out for teams they think they're better than and end up getting beat, and then step up big time and win games they really shouldn't or at least make it difficult on the other team. Hopefully they don't make the same mistake with the avs.
