we are a gigantic mess right now. that lineup in brutal but the defense is especially putrid.

tank boyle prust may be the least skilled 3rd line in the entire league

rupper ec and zuc is pretty funny too. an enforcer/grinder and a useless ahl castoff and a euro midget playing completely out of position. zuc on the 4th line = fail.

atleast this gives torts an excuse for a slow start.

good grief

Yeah.... okay.

If skill= effectiveness I might give a damn.

But Feds-Boyle-Prust blows Wolski-Stepan-Zuccarello out of the ****ing water in terms of effectiveness.

hahaha ok bro. is that the new code word for no talent? effectiveness.

i guess werent "effective" enough in the playoffs last spring....

im no zuc fan at all so ill give you that one but prust ( and i like his game as a checker/pk guy alot) DOES NOT belong on a 3rd line and really nor does boyler for that matter.

i swear torts would have a team full of 3rd liners if he could.

brutal

FWIW, Zuccarello plays all three forward positions.

10+22+13 = 45 goals.

I am willing to bet that beats the league-wide average for 3rd line goal production.

If we are going to roll 3 lines we can't leave players like Prust and Boyle on the bench. Can't be running the Lisins, Christensens and Wolski's of the world on the off chance that they actually show up for the game that day.

What Zucc needs is power play time. That is where he would thrive to start.

fwiw, i meant playing on the 4th line, where he iwill be completely wasted.

if you have this guy on the roster to give him 4th line minutes, with 4th line doofuses, playing mop up and being short shifted or outright passed over, sitting for 5 minutes between shifts and generally being misused.

then thats a huge mistake. period.

this guy is 100% offense. he needs pp time and even strength minutes with guys who can finish.

otherwise, hes being wasted

You are so spot on. Completely agreed here.
In a fourth line he is really set up to fail. If this is Torts plan with him. Please trade him ASAP.

After watching NYI highlights against TBL, consider me concerned about these proposed defensive pairings finding a way to contain a those Islander forwards.

Well considering his post was from 4 days ago... mentality has changed since he hasn't skated since the Europe trip.

Plenty of people figured it was a rest day. Few days later with no practice.. more severe then people thought?

We'll definitely need one of those patented Gaborik hat tricks against the Isles.

So, WW should get first line minutes with his 35 point season last year but Boyle doesn't deserve third line minutes with that same number of points? Interesting.

He also said I wouldn't worry until you hear something more conclusive. Now you have heard something more conclusive so you can worry.

Our team, I know it is early, needs to make some strides over the next few weeks. We have a lot to figure out, especially lines and players, and injuries as well. If we are .500 coming back from Canada I will be pleased.

That's a legit concern, no doubt. After Girardi and McD, it could be open season tom's nite.

If we are .500 coming back from Canada(where we traditionally do lousy), let's throw a parade!
