Les deux unités d'attaque à cinq: Plekanec-Desharnais-Pacioretty-Weber-Subban ET Cole-Gomez-Gionta-Emelin-Diaz.
No Plek at the point, it's a miracle!
I knew that wouldn't last too long. Martin's philosophy in all situations is about how not to get scored on, not how to score. That's why he had Plex at the point. He probably feels Emelin is ready "defensively" for the point now. It's all a little backwards, but this is for the best.
I think it's pretty clear the organization is giving Desharnais a chance to show he belongs in the top 6 and whether he's worth keeping long term. I rather they experiment now than mid season.
I don't think they have any intentions of putting him in the top 6, which is precisely why they feel that the PP is a good spot to let him show off his talents. DD's problem thus far is precisely what Gomez's was last year: he always thinks pass, and the other team's know it. He needs to put more pucks on net and make quicker decisions with the puck.
But that's the problem with the PP, period. They work really hard to get the puck, but once they get it they spend too much time lollygagging the puck back and forth. Hopefully we'll see more pucks on net from the points next game, since they all have good shots.
The coaching staff is scrambling to find answers before 1w 2L becomes 3 and 7 and they are out of a job. The team does not have a superstar, just a roster full of complimentary players, theres not much Martin can do with what he has. Outside of the power play, this group is too small and timid to be effective in 5 on 5 situations and Carey price has win too many games for us. Yes I am a Habs fan to the bone, but I don't like the way this team is built and things won't change until management decides to change philosophy on player personell.
Eller on the wing maybe his shoulder is still to soar to take faceoff consistantly. plus he might stay there for 6 to 10 days waiting for Cammy to comeback
Yeah probably. Must be my imagination that we are using our best centerman at the point because there isn't you know, an actual NHL pp point-man in our lineup atm, that we have a tandem of defensemen with a combined 3 NHL games in our top 6 and that we were unable to generate any kind of transition game last night because we were constantly bottled up in our own zone. You're right, they looked great. lol

I think Diaz, Emelin, and Weber had a good game, that's what I meant.
Subban and Gill not so much, that's my opinion Jigger.

Fair enough.
And it's not like I'm expecting Weber, Diaz and Emelin to come out and look like seasoned vets either. They did ok. Just saying we're not exactly icing an intimidating top 6 right now and there is only so much JM or any coach can do with that.

Take out DD and put in Kosty please.
I'd agree with this. Kosty's size and shot would be reason enough. I guess the only knock on him is that he's not the greatest playmaker/puckmover but then again DD hasn't looked very good at all. I'd put AK there instead as well.
