Screw DD centering AK.

Moen - Eller - AK.

All big, all skilled, all work, all the time.

I would love to see:

Pacioretty - Eller - Kostitsyn (Get most minutes - would be beastly!)
Desharnais - Plekanec - Cole
Palushaj - Gomez - Gionta
Darche - Engqvist - Moen

When Cammy returns he takes Desharnais' spot. Desharnais would then fall to Palushaj's spot on the 3rd line.

Eller still on the wing ?? Baffling to me how much time JM takes to get it in his head that Eller is so much more effective and valuable to this team at center ice. And Desharnais has the potential to be a useful winger while he is a liability at centyer. Yet here we are looking at that line-up...

If you just switched DD and Eller, those lines wouldn't be half-bad :

Patch Eller and AKost skating together ? Man I'd pay to see that !!

The only smart thing I see here is the bum Gomez on the third line!

Martin, please try:

Kostitsyn - Plekanec - Cole
Pacioretty - Eller - Gionta
Desharnais - Gomez - Palushaj
Darche - Enqvist - Moen

Gorges - Subban
Gill - Weber
Diaz - Emelin

Price
Budaj

Explanations:

1) Kostitsyn and Plekanec have chemistry so play them together
2) Pacioretty, Eller and Gionta! Try it, it might work
3) Gomez belongs on the third line going forward, he is a bum and needs to be woken up for a change
4) Darche, Enqvist and Moen are all 4th line players
5) Gorges needs to play with Subban because Gill does not have the mobility and foot speed to make up for Subban's mistakes every game, Gorges does
6) Gill and Weber, defensive player with an offensive player
7) Diaz and Emelin on the third pairing, try it, it might work!
8) Price is nets!!! (this one was a given)

Again are you sure Eller shoulder is ready to take allot of faceoffs in one night, maybe it's why he's on the wing. why judge JM so quickly, come one people it's starting to look like a running gag around here.. JM or PG makes a decision .BOUM it's the wrong one whatever the reason...

So many people saw DD centering the 2nd line instead of Gomez...wow that work well.
Maybe we should wait just a little before seeing Eller centering second line

No?

Hey guys, are the Habs going to start Budaj against his former team or is Price going to play?

Budaj will start when Price gets tired. Hopefully in December during that long awful road trip.

not crazy about Eller on the wing, but do like the notion of him playing with Pleks, at least until Cammy gets back.

Eller- Pleks- Gionta
MaxPac- DD- A.Kost
Cole- Gomez- Darche
Moen- Engqvist- Palushaj

that's how i'd go until Cammy gets healthy
I like these combinations. If you look at results, Gomez was horrible last year and he played all year with Gionta. Maybe its time to break them apart and see what happens.

Of course, I really like Moen on the 4th where he belongs.

I'm actually glad Pleks is off the point. He obviously didn't look comfortable there and we were giving up a lot of odd man rushes on the PP with Pleks on the ice. Plus he kept failing to keep the puck in at the blue line.

Yeah me too. We need him up front on the PP.

Can't blame JM for trying things out early in the season though with all these injuries on the blue-line. I think I'd like to see Weber out of the players we have now be the go-to guy back there. Not ideal, but best we have until PK gets things together.

The night patches got hit, he said that all he had was a minor concussion on team 990.

I also like Eller far more at center, but I believe he played wing all night yesterday.

Yep. I only meant that he'd be even better at his natural position. Eller is a guy that excels when you let him carry and control the puck as much as possible, and he's pretty good defensively to boot. I'm hoping keeping him on the wing is only to have him avoid taking the faceoffs for now.

I'd go with;

Desharnais/Moen - Plekanec - Cole
Patches - Gomez - Gionta
Moen/DD - Eller - A.Kost
Darche - Engvist - Palushaj

I don't think Desharnais will ever play to his full potential unless he goes to the wing.

So AK has been taken off the PP completely? Again?

IIRC, he hit the post on the PP against the Leafs, a game where he seemed to get a regular PP shift and did well. The following game against the Jets, he got one shift on the PP while the Jets took 5 penalties. Then he got a regular shift on the PP yesterday against the Flames and looked pretty good out there. Now he isn't practicing on the PP. I'm curious as to whether that is because Martin is confident he can perform in such situations and so is letting some of the people who need the practice get the practice, or Martin is so appalled at his apparent competency with the man advantage that he wants to stamp this out of his team at an early stage

...who passes it to Desharnais, who fakes the pass to Palushaj but instead passes it to Gomez who tries to pass it to Palushaj but Subban skates 40 feet out of position, intercepts the pass, shoots into a defenders shin pads and as a result is out of position when the other team has an odd man rush the other way and they score on Price.

Sadly, it seems all too possible this year.

Wow, great with the DD bashing...

Isn't there other players who make more than 700k who deserve more blame... come on, he's still a rookie for **** sake. He hasn't been good, but guess what... so did the vast majority of the players...

I think Eller is much better at the center position and I hope the Habs start giving him some chances to play with better wingers to see where he's at. I'd love to see him with Pacioretty and Gionta. But being put on Plek's wing (the team's best player) must be a boost of confidence for him. After one game the coach may be giving him this opportunity to play top line minutes.

DD and Pax got the respect and brotherly love thing going, this is their chance to turn us into believers, so I like it. If we don't establish some chemistry early in the season however will JM mess with it later?

No effing way Gomez touches the puck more than twice and makes passes to his linemates. He has to break up the monotony by making one blind pass or one back hand pass to an opposing player. Otherwise the game isn't interesting for him.
