May 23rd, 2010 against Chicago. He did play in the pre-season as well though.

Nabokov? Gillies? LOL. That definitely helps the Rangers cause...

I don't know what's more sad...Isles fans all excited after a 5-1 win against TB in the third game of the season, or the fact that they could only get 9,000 through the gate

Let's beat these chumps.

Pack line FTW. LGR!

Hope I'm wrong.

We try and get up for every game, and every game is two points, but the Islanders are our main rival, and going into their building is always intense. If you can't get up for this game there is something wrong with you. -Christensen

Interesting. Especially from him.

Lets hope this works to our advantage.

And yea, I saw the average attendance for the last two Isles games was about 9,000. And even more surprising, the Devils average attendance for thier last two games was about 12,000. What happened to the "1,700 brand new season ticket holders" they were promoting? lol

It'll be a packed house tonight...mostly with Rangers' fans.

The majority of the Islanders' season ticket holders sell their seats for this game, it's one of the few they can make a profit on all season (and help offset the losses from other games).

Only the 4th game of the season but I'm definitely expecting at least 50/50 Rangers' fans, if not more. Almost everyone I know is going.

And I'm confident about tonight. Even with this rag-tag group of defensemen we're being forced to throw out there.

They've had a week off, got in 4 good practices...they're all chomping at the bit to get out there tonight. It's gonna be an intense game. I'm expecting a fight within the first 5 minutes.

That's usually a problem for this team though. So while I agree with you in theory, I could see it being a disaster

Yeah. I was thinking where is Emo and what have you done with him.

Watch Nabakov have the game of his life tonight. Seen it before.

Yea but this was a good week off. Got to see their families, adjust back to a normal schedule and time zone, etc.

I'm guessing 5-2 Isles.
Have a little faith in Hendric . I mean how often does he give up five goals. Whats wrong with you man?

Still not excited about this game, even with Nabokov in. Has all the makings for a disaster. Lots of time off. One of our biggest rivals. Two strikes against us before we even play.

They probably do this so the players can get readjusted from jet lag. Some people adjust faster then others. A family member of mine takes 3-4 days to readjust and thats under normal conditions. Hockey players are going full throttle in practice and such and probably need the extra time to adjust to the difference.

We could play without D, and Hank still wouldn't let 9 past him

bunch of people saying the isles are going to go goal-crazy against us...i dont get that...
we played the kings and ducks who are way more of an offensive threat to us than the isles-kopitar, m richards, brown, perry, getzlaf, ryan etc.
our team is the same except swap sauer and woywitka...sauer is not an all-star defenseman. yes he is good but i dont think that swap will result in the islanders scoring 5 or more goals against us when the kings and ducks were held to like 2 or 3 goals.
i think the most the islanders would score is maybe 4 and i think it will be a close game unless our top two lines break out tonight.
im more nervous that our offense will have trouble getting going and hope that nabokov shows some rust so we can knock in some goals...
im excited cause i think we will come out strong tonight.
