I'm probably out for the night, but Quincey is back in a big way. He's been dynamite to start the year.

So Porter needs to sit....the D needs to be better...the whole team needs to get on the ball...Stastny's line was great finally, RoR's line was good in bursts...Duchene's line was horrible most of the game. We got a lucky win.

Great shootout. Can't get more efficient than that one. Hejduk makes it look easy in the shootout.

Ugly game, but 4-1 is a helluva lot prettier than 3-2.

Duchene and Hejduk are the only ones who have taken shootouts so far, and the only thing they've done so far is score, doing the same thing both times.

Varly looked tired. I think playing JS might not be a bad idea.

2 Points! Woot!

Sloppy game. Need to really hammer home clearing and gaining the zone. There were too many chances produced from the Avs giving up the puck at the Habs blueline as well as from the Avs inability to clear their own zone.

Varly started to look a bit shellshocked, though I'm not surprised. A lot of those goals he got no help on whatsoever.

Sloppy game, but they got it done. Tighten up the D and things will continue to be fine.

That was some godawful and sloppy hockey tonight. Happy for the W of course but they have to be much much better, in a lot of areas.

Not the prettiest of wins but very sweet two points. Duchene and Hejduks penalty shots these two wins were fantastic. Duchene might have tunnel vision from time to time by he does have glorious hands.

He should be. His game sucks so far. However, if he's thinking that much about it, it's not going to help him at all.

Anyway, i don't even want to talk about this game anymore, worn out just from watching it. Just relieved we pulled it out somehow.

What a game. Crazy. Bad. But we take a win.
Seriously, you won't win a lot of games like this one and the game vs Columbus.

Nevertheless 4-1 is a pretty good start.
We had games when our D was awesome, we had games with our 1st line being awesome, games with our 2nd line being solid, our 3rd line is almost always awesome.
Let's get it together and we're a solid team.

Varly didn't look as great tonight as he did before but seriously our D was pretty bad tonight as well.
45 SA and some pretty big opportunities for the Habs. Nevertheless Varly had some great saves (eg the beginning of the 3rd on the PK and so on). He will be fine

From last season to this point this season he seems like the most improved player.

The guys looked tired in this one. The only times I noticed Duchene was when he was turning the puck over and when he scored in the shootout. Hopefully they get some rest after this one and make it count. Everyone is entitled an ugly win, let's not assume that this will be par for the course.

No celebration after the goal but he had a big smile on his face when he hugged Stastny and Varlamov.

He should look unhappy. He's trying waaaaaaay too much out there, and more often than not he just turns the puck over. He's good with the puck on his stick but he needs to settle down and use his linemates more.
