It's not Cole that will likely be showing up anytime soon, it's Subban.

Not a bad game overall, but I wish we had better players than Enqvist and Palushaj on the 4th line.

The good: MaxPac, Eller.
The bad: Gill
The ugly: Subban, Price

Desharnais and Gionta had bad games but scored some timely goals.

On another matter, I get NESN Bos-Chi game on channel 462 (Videotron)

Just checked the standings.

Not good when you start to fall 3-4 points behind teams after only 4 games. Especially since we have had a very EASY start to the season, facing 4 non-playoff teams.

It will only get worse I'm afraid.

You fall to 1-5-1 and it is near impossible to make that ground up over the season. The league is too close now.

Positive and completely unrelated note: Taylor Hall just took a beast of a hipcheck from Keith Ballard along the boards early in the Oil/Nucks game, and there was no shoving match or fighting afterwards. The play just kept going. That was nice to see.

growing pains, better now than in mid season

He admitted it. The game is over, now stick to the process and drop it with your results analysis. Winners and hardworkers are what they are because they stick to the process and future. What are you doing? Complaing for a whole week after each defeat and ignore any positivity. You sir are a nuisance to the quality of this board. People are doing the same mistake as I am doing right now: giving you too much attention for what you deserver. You're a negative leader who drags this board down the drain of your eternal negativity. I said it, hope you understand this.

Price real good in room. Stood up strong. Said 3 goals he should have had. Said he & Pierre had some work to do. Said he'll figure it out.

I think they played a great game tonight, Price was the one who had a bad night. The goals he let in killed the momentum of the team

On a positive note...

DD-Pacman-AKost is magic and maybe we will see them together more.
Gionta looks good and Pleks is downright dominant.

Negatives...
Gomez still sucks and Cole hasn't shown much. Our defense is pretty brutal.

I'm confused... When did they fit these other 3 games in? What were the scores?

No, he wasn't invisible. And I'm not forgetting him protecting Plek when shoved in front of Colorado's nets.

But he isn't clicking on many passes, incoming or outgoing. Effort's there, chemistry isn't. I didn't list him as "Bad News" because I believe his talent and drive will start showing dividends soon. He just hasn't done much yet, considering his pedigree.

Should be showing up anytime now...:

Emelin was fantastic tonight...

And what do you mean Price should be showing up anytime now? Sure he had a bad game tonight but he great in the other games.

Price was weak tonight along with Subban and Gill again. Montreal cant make an out let.

The only positive i take out of it is that its early in the year and JM plays a defensive system where maybe with all the youth on the backend and many of the vets just starting to play regularly from the preseason, that the defensive side rounds out.
Yup, that's the defense. It's gonna be ugly for some time.

Agreed about JM's defensive system. People here hate it but, ironically, that may be the only thing that will bring the defense to a level of acceptability in the short to medium term - it will compensate for lack of experience and toughness.

Missed the first half of the game as I was fishing in the bay. Caught some really nice Redfish and Flounder. Dinner tomorrow night will be awesome.

Saw flashes of brilliance from the Habs and some of the same old nagging problems.

The brilliance was the puck movement on offense and more drive to the net. The nagging problem was puck movement to nowhere (more often than not to an Avs player) in particular on defense.

Kudos to our little guys for looking great, DD and Gionta.

Damn, we sure could have used Shane O'Brien on this team.

That's why Buffalo started 3-8-2 and made it. Anaheim started like 1-7 and made it into 4th. Cut the crap. There is 78 games left.

I think offense was well balanced tonight.
Gionta and Moen scored.
Plekanec scored. (granted on the PP, but still, his line had some nice chances)
DD and MaxPac scored.

Maybe Moen and Cole can alternate, Gionta scored with Cole/Gomez. In any event, Cammy should be placed with Plek again once he comes back.

I was saying that I wanted Cole and AK playing with Eller as a center, but my main point was to have one line with two PFs. I believe it proved fruitful tonight. The DD-MaxPAc-AK was our best line.

Do you really think Markov-campoli-spacek will do anything to fix ou lack of net protection?

Like it or not, we don't have any roster solutions, injured-healthy-Hamilton, for being pushed around in front of our net.

Coach doesn't beloeve in it and GM refuses to address it.

Gotta cross fingers that pp picks up, Proce gets back to top-5 level, and we find a way to consistent score 5on5...

A lot of hoping in store for us I'm afraid

My Thoughts...

Max looks like our most complete player!
Diaz and Weber look great...which is promising!
Hal Gill offers zero offense...should only get a lot of time when we are holding a lead.
PK hasn't looked good at all...but give him time!
Emelin...Is starting to come around...made some nice plays tonight...I think he will only get better!
Price looks absolutely horrible in the last couple of game...Abby should get the next start...He looks like he has no confidence at all...the better put some time on him with break aways...he was looing behind him as soon as Statsny shot...not a good sign.

Palusja...should not be used on the fourth line...he was really flying out there and shouldn't be barried back there.

Dude. They have one win facing 4 terrible hockey clubs.

Now they play Buffalo/Pittsburgh, Toronto, Philly.

We are going to be out of playoff contention by the end of October.

May as well rest Markov until next year. No use bringing him back in to play with this sad sacked team.

Agreed

Cole was definitely working as hard as anyone tonight. He had some flashes of really really good play, but I found his timing was off. Things just weren't bouncing his way or he was a second late. I'm confident he will be a good addition this year.
