Gaborik - Beast Mode

He has that jump back. He's engaging. He's even been somewhat physical. When the puck's on his stick he's attacking again.

If he maintains this play he's going to have a career year. Richards has helped, but I think Gaborik will succeed with almost anyone with the way he's been playing. Exciting ****

I agree. He's definitely looked better.

Jump back in his step. Engaging in the play. Even throwing some body-checks.

Got his shot back too. He had a career year with Prospal and Christensen as his linemates, so I can definitely see him having a career year with Richards.

Best game any Ranger has played thus far in these three games.

He was flying on the ice, a speed and jump to his game that I haven't seen in a while. It helps that he is playing healthy this season. But his acceleration... Unbelievable. Dynamic to describe his last game was an understatement.

If he can keep it up, he'll bank 40+ goals this year.

ok so i heard some stuff but don't rip on me for saying it. I work at a bar and these 2 guys who are passionate ranger fans come in. I always talk with these guys and there from Smithtown aka they know a lot of guys who came out of long island who are in the nhl (komisarek, higgins, and birnstill whos in the danish league) One of birnstills brothers was out one night with dubi and a bunch of other rangers said gabby last year was going through some relationship problems. Heard "his fiance left him" . Now if that's true i understand why he could of had a bad season. I've seen countless times when people break up it totally changes the person and there's always **** on your mind. Happened to someone i know close and he was a totally different person and playing hockey with him wasn't even the same! Swear to god.. just wanted to throw that tidbit in there.

He's skating well but he's not doing fantastic. That line has been our best line, but that's not saying much. They could be much better. The mojo isn't there yet, but that doesn't mean it can't get there.

Gaborik has a great set of wheels. An unbelievable set. But he's really only good in open ice and doesn't create much for himself. He's not a great deker, and it seems as if he can never get a good shot off if he's being defended. However, if he's wide open, it's almost assuredly a goal (if he's in this mindset and form).

Once they figure out the first line combo, he's going to be great.

And if the Rangers powerplay ever comes around, Gaborik is probably the only true shooter they have on it, so I'm sure he'll benefit there as well.

What I love the most is that he and Richards already seem to have a sense for each other on the ice. This is why I was so in favor of doing whatever it took to sign Richards, because it's essentially a massive upgrade at two positions. Three games in and they're already scoring. Once the rest of the team gels we'll be fine (and yes, it usually does take longer than three games).

Richards is a brilliant hockey player. He's such a smart player with great in game instincts. It's incredible we have him.

Gaborik's more involved than he's been in a long time and he's already developing good chemistry with Richards. And he's shooting the puck more, which was one of my gripes about him last year and during the preseason.

I think playing with Step and Richards really helped him. Both of them set him up on huge breakout passes without looking - Richards' turned into a goal, but Step broke him on a huge breakaway also. I expected that from Richards obviously but seeing Step hit him with that pass was a real bright spot to the game for me. If these three can consistently show that comfort with one another and Step and Richards can both maintain a sense of where Gaborik is and is going to go, this line will be great.

Also, I'm very relieved to see his wheels back - I was a little worried that they may have been fading and he was trying to adjust his game to that reality but thats definitely not the case. He was as quick as ever last night.

He's looked fantastic. Very involved so far, even in the Ducks game where he didn't score he was driving the net and had a few good chances.

In case you haven't noticed, we're missing our top defenseman, and another one of our top 4 defenseman. Might have something to do with it.

Because everybody who decided to show up last year has been atrocious so far.

Dubinsky has been horrible, Boyle is a no-show, and we're missing Vinny Prospal, one of our biggest consistent producers down the stretch last year.

yea Gabby looks real good. Stepan seemed to fit and boy when Richards has the puck he can find the open man

This team will be fine. 5 on 5 they were real good, penalties killed them.

Packline and FBP line are going to do well.

4th line is a mish mash but they have options in house to fix that. I expect Hagein to get a sniff before season end.

If you didn't see the Gaborik goal developing way before it happened then I question your ability to keenly watch a hockey game.

HA, the second the puck went to the boards, I saw Richie going to get it and Gabby by the blue line. I knew it was gonna happen. Gabby turned on the jets and sped down the ice, got the perfect pass and made Nabakov look like a fool

Missing defensive defensemen is a reason why we can't score???
