I am just nervous and I always look at the long term vs. the short term. Too many times we see players who were rushed. It could be a similar case study with Sid the Kid's injury. I hate losing very talented players. Especially ones who I admire a lot. Looks like he maybe a game time decision for Monday's game. And Malkin is back and got 2 points, so that's good. Man, the Caps own the Pens in Pittsburgh. 8 straight wins in their building(s) Igloo and Consol.

Do you seriously believe there is any chance Crosby is being rushed? He has a team of the best concussion specialists in the world working with him.

You don't mess around with an asset like that. I think his awareness and timing are nowhere near where they need to be. He'd be opening himself up to not only another concussion, but a myriad of other injuries.

I think they remain careful.
Jet, less than 1% chance...does that mean you will give me 100-1 on a little wager?

Me thinks there is a good chance he plays on Monday

If it wasn't illegal I'd take you up on that wager

Of course I do, and having the best concussion specialists behind you is still not a guarantee he'll be 100 percent fine. Only death and taxes are a guarantee in life. Not like these specialists are God. You give them far too much credit. The brain is a very fragile thing. Concussions have been known to leave lingering negative effects. History tells us this. If he gets another head injury. I don't think any of us will be shocked. I mean at one point people thought he was done. Now all of a sudden he maybe good for an October game? It sounds like night-and-day over a short period of time.

I hope for the best.

I got tickets to the December 23 game anyways so as long as he's back for that.

I hope he dominates when he comes back. He can still get 140 points.

He's not going to be rushed.. it's been over half a year now.

and I'm aware.. haha. Malkin is the best player in the NHL right now. Caps got dominated all game and squeaked out a BS win.

Well, at least the Pens got a point out of that debacle. It maybe over half a year since the recent head injury, but he was still feeling the effects of his concussion mere weeks ago, so that's why I believe he's being rushed. I want to know that he has felt zero effects months from his last symptoms. But I am the "play it safe" kind of guy.

Wouldn't you rather be safe than sorry? The Pens rode a 12 game winning streak, none of which the 29 other teams could say in 10/11. That was minus Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin, and 4 of their top 9 forwards out of the lineup. That's why Dan Blysma won the Jack Adams (Coach of the Year), among other reasons. But that winning stretch was the focal point and stamp as to why he won the hardware. The fact they have 16 goals scored and 8 points (both tops in the NHL) so far this season, signifies another reason that the return of Sid the Kid should not be rushed.

The Pens know this... they're not going to let their multi-million dollar asset and ultimately, teammate, be "rushed". He said he doesn't have symptoms.. feels good.. so he is good enough to take contact in practice. Pittsburgh is going about this in a totally normal way.. when Sid does play, it will be with 100% certainty that he is healthy. I assure you.

Hmmm, I think I have seen this movie before. Ahem, and so say all the other teams and then fans concerning those teams of their then multi-million dollar assets that were rushed, and aggravated that same injury. The list is a long one and I am falling asleep as it's 1:20 AM here. I apologize if the wording is off. I am tuckered out.

What more do you want the Pens and Crosby to do? He has been working at 100% exertion for well over a month without any symptoms. Only now has he gotten cleared to practice with contact; if the pens and him wanted to rush back he would have gotten clearence for contact a long time ago and would probably already be playing this season. In most cases a person only needs to be symptom free for a week, along with being able to complete all the tasks to be cleared to play again. Crosby and the Pens are being incredibly cautious with this. I'd also bet that he doesn't play a game for another 2 to 3 weeks which would take him to over 2 months without symptoms. He wont play until he and the team believe that he is 100% ready to go. I really don't get your stance, should he sit out the rest of this year just to make sure, or perhaps next year as well?

Really hoping he shows up as I have some dope tickets to the game. Section 120, row 1. Trying to think up clever sign ideas mainly revolving around him.

How about welcome back to Winnipeg Sid, we missed you.

He lit it up here for Canada's junior team back in the day. Scored a beauty coming in off the off wing and just one handed it over the goalies far side.

The Pens are going to skate circles around our boys if they play like they have been so far. I really hope they show some effort Monday.

I'll happily swallow an 0-4 record as long as I see something that resembles a cohesive team effort with no (less?) stupid defensive lapses.

Guys, glad you got a team again. Looking forward to some playful banter, at least until you move to the Western Conference. Good luck the rest of the season (i.e., after tomorrow!)

Im going to the game, it would be incredible if Crosby started if not just to give him a standing ovation for scoring the golden goal for us. This is my first Jets game lets make it our first win!
