That's a shame. I hope this does not develop into a chronic issue with his feet.

Homer: "So we're all good here? Your 8th overall, Joe Voracek---"
Howson: "
Jakub Voracek"
Homer: "Whatever. Jake Check, the 8th, a 3rd rounder....for Jeff Carter?"
Howson: "Yup, that's it"

I always thought that rule was stupid since 's denotes possession on every other word its used in, in the English language.

It's no good when injuries begin repeating themselves.
Also, I've just accepted that there will be a thread for every good or bad thing these two do.

That's not true at all, for example:
She is=
She's
He is=
He's
As for Carter, I kind of have a feeling he's going to have a lot of bad luck given his history and his new team. I liked him in Philly, especially his two-way game. However, he tended to be a little static as far as strategy went. I don't blame the guy for missing the net a lot, that's what shooters tend to do.
However, I'm not sad he's gone, or hurt, and I don't care at all for Columbus. This is a team that threw a handful of money at a couple of good players, and now two of them are already out of the line-up. They got Nash the center he's needed (and Carter and Nash have looked pretty good), but there's still no supporting cast. I'd expect that from a team hovering around the cap floor, but the Blue Jackets are nowhere near that (
64 million against the cap this season )

Carter needs to drink a lot more milk. Tough luck so far for him, and for Columbus. Time for their other guys to step up.

I was also taught that contractions were informal, and I never used them in any papers that I wrote. Maybe those contractions are just informal even for contractions?

We're on a forum. Exactly the right place for "slang" and being informal.

He is no longer a Flyer, let's please take this discussion to the Misc. NHL Talk thread. This kind of thing is sort of morbid, haha.
I would merge this thread over, but I just merged one about Richards and I don't want to mix these posts into the middle of that discussion.
