The way I see it, there's only one way to get better at something : That is to do said thing.
As other posters have previously stated, he is getting better and better. He really used to be sooooooo much more awful at it then he is today.

I mean come on, people.
If he keeps this up, soon he'll be the first goalie with a hattrick

Think of the shame you'd feel if they let him do it and he barely flung it past center ice...

Malkin caught one of his attempts at mid ice a last year or the year before, IIRC.

One day, when he's much older (probably 30s) he will learn to be like Ryan Miller and VERY rarely play the puck outside the crease. When Ryan comes out of the next to play the puck he basically just stops it and leaves it for whoever is playing defense...he has a Vezina so he has to be doing something right!

That's weird because I was just thinkin' the other day that if Ryan Miller learned to gamble with the puck more, he might win a Stanley Cup before his career is over. Fleury has a cup so he has to be doing something right.

That botched attempt was vintage Fleury again, the guy is driving me nuts. His puckhandling definitely has improved over the years but it still has only gone from 'awful' to 'weak'. I don't know what it is with him, maybe his happy go lucky nature just makes him so careless. Or he gets WJC flashbacks and freezes since sometimes he does get to the puck quickly but then stops, overthinks and waits too long instead of playing it.

You do have a point, but your argument is wrong. Just because Miller won a Vezina doesn't mean that his play is perfect and that every goaltender should try to imitate every aspect of it.

I understand the discontent of some of the fans here. As an Isles fan (I come in peace), it was irritating to see DP always attempt foolish crap like that. But, IMO, MAF deserves his shot every so often, he regularly plays like a beast!! On the other hand, well we know what happened with DP

Maybe he should just work on his shot after practice?

I'm going to pay attention to MAF handling the puck now, I'm intrigued to see if he's actually worse than Jonathan Quick. Every time Quick leaves the crease its a friggin emergency.

Yeah, I realized that the other day. My bad.

Fleury has been pretty awful with the puck this season so far.
