NEWS & NOTES

QUOTES TO NOTE

We didn’t put together a full 60 the way we wanted to play.
It seemed like every time we started to get a forecheck and putting up some pressure, we took a penalty.
We addressed it coming into the game, taking penalties we didn’t need, but we found ourselves killing a lot today.
- Ryan Callahan

There were times where we controlled the game, but we took a few penalties and it killed the momentum that we had.
We have to work harder to be more disciplined out there.
- Henrik Lundqvist

There are no excuses here. We lost a hockey game. The Isles played better than us, they were more disciplined than us.
I don't want to hear about Europe, I don't want to hear about if it's a penalty or not a penalty. We're not disciplined enough.
- John Tortorella

I'll be there. 15th row, Center Ice, wearing my Lundqvist jersey.

Let's go Rangers.

Kesler is back and hopefully rusty....

Sec 103 row 2, no idea where that is but I'll go to the arena and ask for directions.

LGR! Also excited to see the Sedin twins live.

The Canucks are off to... not the best start, but they can still score like a billionaire in a *****house, so please just don't take any cheap, brain-dead penalties.

Oh boy this one should be fun.

Over/Under 5 Ranger penalties? I'm going with over - 6.

Hopefully they can pull out a win otherwise this bad momentum can keep moving forward.

If I'm not mistaken, your seats are in the corner, penalty box side, at the end that the Rangers will be shooting on twice.

But don't hold me to it...

Thank you for the information! I'll probably come to the rink 20 mins before warmups and find the seats.

I almost forgot. There will also be a tribute to Rypien before the game.

Canucks have been sloppy so far this season so hopefully the trend keeps up. They also have been getting into penalty trouble like us. They took 4 penalties in the first 11 minutes two games ago, and 2 penalties in the first 10 minutes last game. Hopefully it keeps up and our PP can actually capitalize.

Have fun!

for the love of god stay out of the damn penalty box.

as much as i hate how the flow gets broken up when a player rides the pine… Torts better glue the first player that takes a dumbass penalty to the wooden rocket for a nice chunk of the night.

Please win! I don't think I could take a 0-2-2 start, although it's not THAT bad. Looking for Gaborik to have a 2-goal game and hopefully our forecheck will create some PP opportunities and we can capitalize. Stay out of the fuarkin' box too. Even if we don't win, show me good hockey!

Anyway, please sub to my YouTube channel for goals, highlights, etc. Good quality too. It's gonna be good.

If they split this road trip theyll be 2-3-2 - 6 points

Not the end of the world considering they've traveled 16,000+ miles in 4 1/2 weeks.

Im just looking for them to get their game together, and getting into good habits, win or lose. If they come back with at least 4 points im happy. It would be a good start to take at least 1 out of there tonight.

Wolski on the 4th line. Ugh. I'd like to see him have a chance to at least play on the 3rd. Although, frankly, I'm sure everyone will play with everyone by the time the game's over ha ha. Wish he'd at least get a chance. I'll chalk up last year to an off year, but the one game he played this year I'm not using to judge.

That being said, Rangers are running into one of the most dangerous teams in the league! If you thought Tavares and Moulson were dangerous against this D, watch out for the Sedins. Luongo is having a hard time keeping the puck out of the net, yet I have to say, as is always the case with the Rangers, somehow this will be his huge rebound game ha ha.

Just hoping they get a win here! We don't look quite as bad thanks to the two points, but winless in 4 straight won't sit well! Ergh. Hopefully Stepan/Richards/Gaborik continues to click and the Pack Line... man, maybe they'll wake up for this one.

By the way, anyone else dumbfounded how ridiculously well Higgins has seemed to fit in here? Not to mention Weise finding a spot on one of the best teams in the NHL and not being able to crack our 3rd or 4th line grinders...

This is going to be a ***** of a game for the Rangers. I imagine Kesler will be less than optimum, considering it's his season debut, but beyond that I've been looking for my optimism and can't really find it. Luongo in net, that could be a plus.

Yes, the Rangers could win. On a completely unrelated note, I saw a pig flying by on my way to work today.

Hold us in there Henrik, like you always do.

I think we're gonna get worked.

The march to the penalty box will continue and we will give up at least 2 PP goals.

5-1 'Nucks.

I'd be a lot more disgusted if that bum Higgins scores than if Weise does.

Hey Rangers fans. Just popping by to say good luck! I always look forward to games against the Rangers because they provide a good matchup (both good defensive teams with good goalies, both teams have top end forward talent etc.). I'm just really hoping that Lundy can be a bit less than superhuman against the Canucks tomorrow. Also looking forward to seeing the Richards-Gaborik duo.

Should be a great one!
