Really not worried about it.

Burmistrov put himself in a vulnerable position.

I could understand if he got suspended, but I wouldn't agree with it.

Ugh if he is suspended, they really should send wilkes barre to Minnesota to play on their behalf.

Burmistrov should have the meeting to tell him how stupid he is for putting himself in that position. That seems to be happening more and more. Rather than taking a hit the way you're taught as a kid, guys are trying to turn out of them.

Anybody have video of this? I know Letang was probably ******** after Burmistrov embarrassed him which led directly to the GWG (although it's pretty obvious the 1st goal should have stood up as the GWG), and would have been looking for a chance to pay him back, but when I searched for "Kris Letang boarding penalty" on YT, all I came up with was this:

It's not even the same season lol.

I'd appreciate a clip if anyone has it.

I would imagine they would have to call up Strait just in case. If they find out at the hearing that he's suspended then they wouldn't have enough time to get another D-man.

Interesting way to ask for our help Senz, what with speculating that Letang did something intentionally when you didnt see it, and then whining about our goal.

Borrow Morrow.

Like WVP said once, we could probably get him under "emergency situations" like with Pechursky.

It's in Minnesota though. I could understand the borrowing thing if we were in Vancouver, or on the West Coast. It would be just as difficult for Morrow to get to a game in Minnesota as it would be for a guy from WBS to get to Minnesota, I would think.

True. It would have been a nice excuse to see it done though. lol
Seems like WBS still has a handful of injuries too but not many on the D side?
Strait would be the obvious choice I'd think.

Shouldnt even be an issue as that boarding call was so minor.

We hit a player in the back, it's their fault. Our player gets hit in the back, it's an atrocity. This whole "he turned" argument (propogated by Bob Errey by the way) is BS. So you're not allowed to turn? Yeah, he turned. Then he was pushed in the back by Letang.

As always around here if it was the other way around all I'd be reading from some of you is how reckless the opposing player was and how they have no respect for another player's well being.

You are allowed to turn but you are held accountable if you turn to avoid contact just before it occurs.

Yes, it was purely speculative- hence the "probably". I only saw highlights, and in one of them saw Letang get away with a crosscheck to Burmistrov's back after a SH breakaway. Players don't usually forget stuff like that...

And how was I "whining" about the goal. It's pretty obvious unless you're an blind homer that Cooke interfered with Pavelec in the paint. I'm sure most Pens fans can own up to that one- but hey, you take it if it comes your way.

We see it as a payback for that atrocity of a penalty call on Neal.

The rule book clearly states if the player getting hit turns "immediately prior to or simultaneous with the check" it's not a penalty. So it matters a great deal whether or not he turned into it.

Any idea what time the hearing is set for? If they had to wait until after the hearing before they called someone up i'm not sure they could get someone there in time.

That may be true but as usual it's not about the rule book so much as how these refs actually call the games. I almost never see a guy get pushed in the back into the boards with no call, and when they actually don't call it everyone is going nuts wondering how they could possibly not call a penalty, so what's the rule book worth in that case?

I think the whole thing is idiotic anyways. It's like you're telling the puck carrier where he can and can't skate, and that in certain instances they're not allowed to protect the puck. How about just not pushing guys in the back? It's not even anything against Letang, a lot of guys have been in that situation. I'm not even saying he should be suspended necessarily but the whole attitude of "it wasn't that big a deal" every time WE do it is really getting old.

Well Strait's been recalled. Probably not a good sign.
