If I didn't get a Stepan jersey, I would have definitely got a McDonagh jersey next. I like getting jerseys of players who many people don't have, but I can't on my next one. I have to get a Lundqvist jersey already.
In the 2007 draft, McDonagh was a player I hoped the Rangers would target at 17. But, Montreal decided to take him at 12. (Of course, that was the draft that the Rangers took Cherepanov.) Imagine how happy I was when Bob Gainey was not only willing to take the slug known as Scott Gomez off the Rangers' hands, but, throw in McDonagh for good measure.
That was NOT McDonagh. It's fraud. It wasn't him. It was Brian Leetch. I know it because those are the kinds of shots and moves that Leetch would normally make when he was in his prime. I'm glad that Leetch is as good at 43 today as he was 15 years ago as a 28 year old. But Leetch needs to wear his own jersey. Not cool coming back like that and taking McDonagh's spot in the lineup.
Put him as a forward or put him on the point with Richie on the power play.
I remember seeing how solid of a skater he was last season, but the game tonight gave me a belief that he can play wing if we needed him to. haha. The kid has some hands. Solid fake and dish to Gabby for the fourth goal.
The dude just flows. So collective. Doesn't rush on anything. All he does seems to work and is effective. Flawless.
You are not thrilled now? You are a tough man to please. Let me guess, if you hook up with the runner-up to Miss America, you are deeply disappointed that your woman isn't pretty enough?
Way to really nit pick.
I assumed it was safe to say it like that because people understood that I was already greatly pleased with him as a player now. My perfect scenario would be for him to develop into a 30-40 point two way defensemen and that would be amazing.
If he doesn't then I'm more than happy with him as a player now.
I guess I should never assume people know what I mean, even when I think it's common knowledge.
