I think Erixon had a strong game tonight.
Del Zotto minus the late penalty was good throughout.
Woywitka I thought did not look too good out there on defense. Noticed him having trouble finding the puck in front on Lundqvist that almost resulted in Vancouver tying the game up at 1. He looks sloppy and slow to me but I guess we had no choice but him tonight.
I think once Sauer comes back that will be huge since that will knock Woywitka out of the lineup and move most of the D a slot down in a more comfortable position.
Obviously Girardi and McD were awesome tonight. McD has really stepped up without Staal. IMO the poor performance the first 3 games should not be blamed on Staals absence. Our offense could not get going and way too many stupid penalties.
I think having both Staal and Sauer out hurt us in the loss against the Isles though.
I would like to see our dpairs look like this when both Staal and Sauer come back...
Staal-Girardi
McD-Erixon
Sauer-Del Zotto
Eminger
I think the only weaknesses I have seen from Erixon are a few bad penalties but the whole team has been in trouble there and he is getting better.

On offense, I dont know what took us so long to get going. The first goal felt alot like last year one of those grinding goals to put us up 1-0. I thought that was going to be it. But we kept at it and hopefully the 4 goal game will kick start our offense. Glad Gabby got that goal at the end and wow McD blew me away on that play to get him that goal.

So our D is playing well, we finally scored some goals...next area of concern is our Power Play...hopefully we can get that going in the next game.

The broadway hat, lol. How many times do you figure Hank wears the hat this year?

Also, Henke said that Richie got the hat, which I completely believe.

It's the Ranger's winning hat so hopefully we see a lot of that fedora.

Top 10, absolutely. Top 3 would be pushing it, he's been here 6+ years now.

Definitely not. IMO, it was his 1-0 shutout last season against Vancouver. I guess he really doesn't like Vancouver.

Gentlemen, your New York Rangers have acquired points in 3 of 4 games.

I change my star of the game vote to Hank's very fine hat.

I think we just found our early playoff push avatar idea.

If I had access to my regular photoshop, I would SO mess with that and do something involving McDonagh.

Really don't understand all the penalties...is it that hard to play a disciplined game?

When we got offense from our blueline (MDZ to Rupp, McDonagh on his skate in) there's no reason to dump and chase all the time.

Guys, this was not a top-10 Lundqvist performance. Well... Maybe it was. But, he has had some real special performances, more so than this. I still remember game 82 against the Flyers where he let up just 1 goal on 48 shots and we lost the game in the shootout (who will ever forget that game). That game is way up there, top-3. This one... Top-10 is debatable.

1) Henke
2) McDonagh
3) Rupp....for his 1st goal as a Ranger

EXACTLY. Just like I said after the 1st period in my somewhat rambly post in the GDT. Smooth transition from defense to offense = more scoring chances.

Gotta give Fedotenko some love. I thought he played an excellent game, and he made a sick pass on the goal that really iced it.

I am just salivating at the thought of having Staal, Girardi, McD, and Sauer as our top 4. On top of that MDZ and Erixon have been playing really well.

I think that if we can get a hold of our penalties our offense will eventually be fine and we can make our push.

Yeah. It's tough for me to think of his top games off the top of my head but that game against Joel and the Stars the 2nd year after the lockout stands out as one. He played phenomenal that game.

Best I think I saw Hank was game 4 vs Buffalo to tie that series at 2. Actually he was great in games 3,4, and 5 that series.

Man, 19 shots. Just glad we got the 2 points! Henrik Lundqvist played unreal, maybe his best or at least one of the best games in his career. After that 1st goal we seemed much more confident with the puck, I'm glad I stayed up for the third period.

Goals from tonight for those who missed any, or want to see them again.

Some idiot called us a trap team on the main boards.

Johnny Torts. Trapping Coach.

I seriously can't say those words with a straight face.

Given how much he's traveled, playing the Western Conference champions with a stacked lineup, stood on his head for two periods while consistently facing quality shots throughout the game.

I wouldn't argue it.
