Gotta give a shoutout to Eminger, who was suprisingly terrific in this game.

Fedotenko had legs for all 60 minutes and created some of the only pressure through 40, not to mention a beaautiful assist.

And also Gabby has looked great in the earlygoings.. gotta love seeing 3g in 4games! ... and Richards has assists on all 3 of them!!

As Joe pointed out on the broadcast when discussing Woywitka adjusting to the team... the Rangers play a lock system... which is essentially a trap. What team do you watch?

Mcd's skating is just so good. 25 minutes of ice time for him tonight. Are people starting to realize what a HUGE steal this kid was. Good lord did we pick the Habs pocket or what!?!

I can't think of a team that need a win like that more desperately than the Rangers.

Either way, great period; and, while I did enjoy the clinic put on in the final 20, the first 40 minutes need to be worked on. 8 PP for the Canucks? Unacceptable.

Anyway...

Good: McD, Girardi, Lundy, Gabby, Cally, Erixon, hell, the entire defense

Bad: Prust, Anisimov was kind of meh

Redden: Not enough penalties, IMO.
prust wasnt bad. had one really bad penalty. the other was not a pen imo. he also had 2 assists i think.

Columbus?

Traded for Carter, spent $33M on James Wisniewski and they're 0-5-1...yikes. I actually like their team, but that is just brutal.

Either way, that's just nit-picking. Yeah, this was a HUGE win, really should boost the team's confidence.

Can't believe we've shutout arguably the best regular season team in the league 2 years in a row.

Why isn't MDZ on the list? He had a good game. And why not Rupp, who scored the GWG.

Really, really needed this win. Wasn't pretty (even though the final score indicates it was), but I'll take it. Henrik 4 lyfe.

Prust didn't have a goal. Mike Rupp got the GWG.

A team that played the same lock they're playing this year? Just about every team in the league is a trap team when they don't have the puck in the neutral zone. For one thing, the way the league is now, no team is a top-5 team in GA/G or top-10 in shots-against/game without employing some kind of trap. The Rangers did all three of those things last year.

For another thing, the Rangers employ a trap and have since the middle of the 09-10 season. I know because I watch...
