I thought since Walker was waived (but not claimed) his cap hit comes off the books. Is that not how it works?

He would need to be sent down first. Right now he's been waived but remains on the roster. Because he's been waived, the team can now send him to the AHL if they want.

At least, that's my understanding. Might be wrong.

No, he has to actually be sent down for that to happen. He's still up with the Flyers (and even playing tonight).

I hate the CAP! So damn complicated. NHL needs to recruit Herman Cain and propose a 9-9-9 cap plan for people who can't wrap their heads around it...like ME but more importantly Holmgren and Barry Hanrahan or whatever his name is.

Oh ok. I thought it was once you clear waivers you are no longer counted to the cap, regardless of where you are playing. I thought I remembered that is what happened with Zherdev last season. Oh well.

He has speed and has some hands too. And he went to Brown, so he's smart.

Z looked good on his goal, but didn't really impress me beyond that. Definitely something there and he has some potential, though.

Anyone think he could replace noodle?

Either way, it's been discussed, and I don't think we should bring it up again let alone pass judgement without knowing the details.

The Flyers' organization obviously knew about the situation when they signed him.
