Darren Dreger says that Rene Bourque could be available from the Flames.

If ever there were a guy that would fit perfectly and resolve a lot of our issues, there it is.

Yes, please!

Small FYI...New look on the Preds NHL site. It's nice.

Because the other team has to agree to the trade?

That...and I also like the players I trade for to play more than 40 games.

I'm not sure they'd do that for Smid OR Hemsky...

Smid is someone we could use I don't know what it would take just proposing. We tried to get him at the deadline last year according to the rumors

My hockey coach, who has been an oilers fan since birth but follows the Preds closely since he lives in Nashville, said he would trade Blum for Smid in a second.

And so would every scout in the Oilers organization, from a reverse standpoint.

Never gonna happen. Blum's potential far excels Smid's

Hold on now. I didn't say I would, I said he would. That just shows Smid is a nice piece to have. I think Blum is incredibly valuable, but Smid would be a great player for us.

I don't know your coach then. I know MJ, Ryan and JPII coaches.

Some ex-preds news.

DarrenDreger Darren Dreger
JP Dumont has an agreement in the Swiss League with Bern, however, NHL teams have until Tuesday to sign him to trump the deal.

Good for JP. I wish he would stay in Nashville and work for the Preds in some capacity, but he wants to play the game he loves. Best of luck

Agreed. I still hope he returns to work for the Preds at some point. Best of luck to him!

So much for the theory that he wants to stay around Nashville for awhile.

??? He's been around here all summer, plus the start of the fall months. He even attended Wade Belak's memorial even though he is no longer a member of the preds. As someone else mentioned, if he still feels like he can play and earn money why not take this position???
