Anyone know if he has one or two years on his contract?

Problem is even if the Kings were to strike some sort of deal with Kitsyn's team what do you do with him at that point? I can't see much room for him in Manchester this year and isn't making the NHL squad... I guess they could send him to juniors but I really don't know if that's any better than playing in the KHL. Next year I'd love to see him over here in the AHL as unlikely as that is to happen. Anyone know if he's still WJC eligible this year? That would at least give him some decent experience and room to excel this year if he is.

I have watched Derek Forbort play multiple times this year in person and I don't think he looks like himself so far. He doesn't look good.

Weird. I think another poster said he looked great in one of the games he saw.

Personally I didn't think he played well. None of the defense for the Sioux has though.

If anyone has FCS...they are showing North Dakota vs. Wisconsin.

It's currently 2-0 Wisconsin. Wisconsin comes in 1-3. North Dakota looks awful. No way are they the #5 team in the country, but the polls are skewed early.

3-1 Wiscy now.

The Good News: Kings prospect Michael Mirsch just scored a PP goal

The Bad News: Forbort was absolutely lost on the play

Wisconsin just got swept last weekend by Michigan Tech. I know NoDak lost a ton of guys, but they were supposed to reload this year.

Wiscy scores again... Mersch tipped a Forbort clearing attempt and the Wiscy forward skated right in and scored. Forbort turned it over and then made a pretty bad defensive effort.

Mersch seems like a good energy player, Forbort looks awful

4-3 now.

I am really impressed by Mersch. He is flying out there, a real energy player.

Edit: 5-3 now.

Forbort just got absolutely undressed at the blue line on a 1 on 1 by Brendan Wood, leading to a goal. This is really really bad.

30whales, I assume you are watching this as well, what the hell is going on with Forbort. The guy seems to get worse and worse?

I haven't seen defensive play this bad since Denis Tysugurov.

Edit: And now Forbort takes a penalty after getting skated around again. Oh my god.

Yeah I think they need to let him just sit out a game but unfortunately we don't have enough depth to do that.

Are Blood and Forbort just a bad pair together?

I remember at the FF about the only time we could generate any offense was when those two were on the ice together. You guys had such a sick team last year.

Forbort's lateral movement seems to be a major issue, seen him get beat a lot to the outside.

I think they may be a bad pair. Blood seems to try to be too much like Chay Genoway from last year which he isn't. Earlier this year Blood was just skating around and Forbort was calling for the puck and he never gave him it. Forbort went up to him up on the ice after and I assume he got mad at him. Maybe just some bad chemistry.

Toffoli got 1+1 tonight in a 4-1 win.

Schumacher has a pair of goals after 2.

EDIT: Weal potted 2 for Regina last night.

All 3 guys are in action again today.

Toffoli looking good as per usual. Getting it done as a playmaker today, 3 assists, possibly 4 (I'm not sure if he got credit for one on this latest goal, it would be a secondary assist if he did). One cross crease pass that got kinda deflected, but still nice. Then he came in over the blue line, stopped and drew a few guys over to him, and sent Monahan in on a mini breakaway for the goal.

He better make the WJC. I really wanna see him play myself. Not to mention with his "questionable" skating, it would be great to see how he matches up against some elite competition.

Toffoli is playing unreal for us right now. Scored his hattrick goal in style in OT.
