Kampfer tonight, most likely, as Adam has been pulled back from practice.

Kampfer hasn't played in a LONG time. It's going to take a bit to get up to speed

He can't be as bad as Luke Schenn has been.

Interesting... Didn't think Kampfer was that close to being ready.

never seen when some saw in him. Timid, weak on the puck. Decent skating. Back to the AHL and learn on their dime

Well, I hope Kampfer can keep up and shore up the bottom pairing. Team needs it pretty badly.

He wasn't until Looch nearly ended his life at practice the other day.

Knocked him right back into shape!

I'll see him Saturday in Portland so it'll be interesting to see how much better he looks in the AHL...if at all.

Why? Is McQuaid on his deathbed?

Kampfer is the seventh defenseman because he can go through waivers and be stashed in Providence if need be. If you trade for a veteran defenseman, he's going to be sitting in the press box. Unless, as I said, McQuaid is incapacitated. Have you heard something?

I'd like to see Caron follow him back down to the AHL. Replace Caron with Sauve and stick him on Seguin's line. They looked good in the preseason together.

If Kampfer looks okay, I don't think they really have to until All-Star Break or Trade Deadline.

Defense is not really the problem with this team. It could certainly be improved, but it's not nearly as big a deal as finding another Top 9 forward who can provide some offense.

So I agree with needing to trade for a d-man, but I don't agree with the ASAP part. If Kampfer looks like Bartkowski and McQuaid isn't backsoon, I can get on board though.

But Bart not getting NHL minutes anymore is an improvement no matter what.

Good for Bart to get a bit of NHL time, it helps the player know what they need to work on to make it at that level.

But that being said, glad to hear Kampfer is ready to go...

No, I haven't heard anything, but I am worried.

Corvo almost went down the other night
Ference always scares me
McQuaid is hurt
Kampfer, while will be back tonight, who's to say how he'll hold up.

Call it nerves, but I want a move.

I would have expected Kampfer to get a couple games in Providence to get back into the swing before returning to the Bruins lineup, but I guess with McQuaid out they are displeased enough in Bartowski that they feel they must switch to Kampfer.

Yeah, but you can't make a move based on what MIGHT happen.

Teams don't keep spare NHL defensemen stocked in an emergency pantry. Everybody is pretty much in the same boat when it comes to injuries - they'll call up waiver-proof guys from the minors.

I agree that defensive depth is a concern on this team, but only because injuries are so common. I would ideally like to have a veteran defenseman that can play in the AHL until needed, or who doesn't mind riding pine in order to be a part of the team. That way McQuaid doesn't lose a spot and guys like Kampfer and Bartkowski can get their chances as opportunities arise, not hurried in as the result of deperation.

But that's easier said than done.

At least Kampfer can play 15-20 minutes with Chara; Bartkowski couldn't be trusted for more than 5 minutes.

Kampfer >>>>> Bartkowski, he just has never looked good in an NHL game, yet at least.

I think Kampfer can hold his own until McQuad comes back. The Bruins will probably trade for another 7th-8th veteran defenseman towards the trade deadline for the playoffs though.

Alright. I've done some thinking with all your help. Maybe this Bartkowski thing has me on edge. Let's see how Kampfer does and when McQuaid comes back.

I need alcohol. lol

The dream of Ryan Suter joining the B's is dwindling.

Agreed and I don`t think that`s a knock against Bart, as simple as it would appear to us for someone to easily fit alongside of player A,B or C, it just isn`t that way. Look at the players who CJ tried to fit along Savvy, not everyone is comfortable playing alongside various players for some reason.

And, Bart, plain and simple is a still young defenseman who needs time to develop, hardly a bust
