Judging by Laviolette's description yesterday, I would say that is true.

I don't want to see Walker in the lineup at all tonight....totally not a game for him to play. Lilja would be much more effective and I better see it!

Never tried Starbucks. You just gave me an idea, I will try it and compare the two. I prefer strong coffee that way I can drink less and get the lift I'm looking for.

Very unlikely Walker plays tonight. Lilja will replace him.

From Timmy:

Quote:
Laviolette didnt run lines at skate; wouldnt talk lineup; but ... schenn says he is playing. players unsure of lines; Lilja in; Shelley out
Quote:
Nodl expected in for Shelley
Nodl/Schenn technically in for Harry Z/Rinaldo. Shelley a healthy scratch coming off the suspension.

And from Sam @ the Inq.:

Quote:
Breakaways. Look for defenseman Andreas Lilja to return to the lineup in place of penalty-prone Matt Walker….Shelley was suspended for his boarding hit on Toronto’s Darryl Boyce in a preseason game....Brayden Schenn will make his Flyers debut Thursday. Lavy won't reveal which line he will center.

stay out of the penalty box and score more goals than the Caps!

If this team spends time trapped in their own zone (As they've done at times) the game won't go well...barring Bryz doing Bryz-things. I'd like to see them avoid that tonight.

I'd like to see JVR have a big night. This guy is supposed to be stepping up, right?

I honestly dont like him on that line with Giroux and Jagr. I'd put him with Briere and move Simmonds to the Giroux line. It works on the PP, you would think it would work on ES.

agreed. the team with more jump at puck drop will be the winner tonight. no reason it shouldn't be the home team.

Should be a good game tonight, can't wait. Another test to see what this team is made of.
Gotta love Bryz and his comments. He's just like Pronger:

Quote:
Asked what he knew about Ovechkin on Wednesday, the Bryzgalov comedy show took over.

“He's Russian,” the goalie said. “He wears No. 8. He signed a contract with Gillette.”

Yeah...this Caps team is undefeated, but 3 of their 5 wins were in OT or shootout and have often looked pretty sloppy. With the exception of the Florida game they've been winning their games by one goal margins, and they've looked like crap on defense at times. They seem especially vulnerable while the other team counterattacks, hopefully Giroux and Jagr can take full advantage of that. If the Flyers can be focused and disciplined, they can and should win this. Again, I think the key lies in not being trapped in their own zone...so none of the crap we saw against Ottawa, please.

caps D has actually been pretty solid. aside from the opening game PK gaffes and the goalie/fluke abortion against tampa, theyve got better every game. thankfully theyve managed to win despite playing nowhere near their ability.

anyway, good luck and heres to no injuries. ECF preview?
