Not me, after the Florida trip things get awfully tough for this team. I want to see them in the best possible position since the next 6 games go like this: Pitt, @Pitt, SJ, WPG, WSH, @Boston. That's a hell of a stretch(even with the Jets sandwiched in there) right there.

Agreed that's going to be realllly tough.. Time to prove they're not the same old Islanders

Agreed, we need another win here for insurance points for the tough matches ahead.

Except Boston and San Jose aren't Boston and San Jose right now. Good time to get them! I also like getting two Penguin games out of the way before Sidney comes back and while Malkin is hurting. 3-3 is very doable. Lose at least one of those games in OT and you are sitting at 7-4-1 after your first 12 games.

Time to change that tonight.

Can't wait to see Tavares on some proper ice.

Tavares and Moulson have both started amazingly quickly. Hopefully, Okposo and Grabs get it going tonight.

There is a Brooklyn Islanders Fan group on Facebook, organizing a watch party for tonight's game at O'Keefe's in Downtown Brooklyn, 64 Court St (between Joralemon St & Livingston St), close to the Borough Hall Subway Station.

Brooklyn rocks!!!

2 points in the Florida swing and I'll be happy. Someone mentioned it earlier but this game has all the elements of a letdown.

Yeah it does. This game should be a good indication on how this team will play this year. Rags hang over. A few days off and a good team gunning for some revenge. All on the road and in Florida. Hopefully the guys respond well. I see this game being decided by one goal.

I'm going to go against the grain, and say they take 4 points out of the next 2 games. The team really turns it on, scoring comes from the top three lines, goaltending stays solid, and the defense plays well and wins the games.

Two comments...

  1. It is SOOOOO nice to see 3 pages of GDT comments 3+ hours before faceoff.
  2. Tampa should come out FLYING tonight because if they don't, their season is taking a decidedly horrid turn. They should want payback at home in front of their fans against a team (Isles) that dominated them just one week ago. Tampa really cannot afford to lose this game which is why I'll be quite impressed/excited if the Isles win.

Thx for the info, both updated in the OP.
Thanks Law. That means a lot coming from a GDT legend like yourself, and thanks to everyone else for all the kind words who came over and visited. I wish you all good luck night and the rest of the season! I predict your team will do great things this year. The Islanders are one of the teams I'm very interested in this season and I'm looking forward to what the Isles can become. Here's to a great game

I'm glad to see Montoya start tonight. It will be interesting to see how he does after a week without a start.

It's also nice to know there is a good back-up in Nabokov. He played well against the Rags, not great, but impressive given it was his first start in, what, 17 months.
