JBo's contract is absurd. Pass on that one.

If I am the Rangers, the ONLY (2) defensemen I don't even consider trading are Staal and McDonagh.

Way off.

The way that McMonster is progressing as a defenceman (less than a full season under his belt) He's going to be damnnear close to as good as Jay-Bo is right now.

And with the Salary that Jay-Bo sports, we would need more than a 1st to off-set it.

The trade was very sudden. When Eklund reported it, everyone here **** on him for ten or so minutes. Then Bobby Mac tweeted it.

The Rangers wouldn't move McDonagh for any player currently on the Flames' roster. Not even Iginla, as good a player as he is (regardless of whether they would want to or not, the salary doesn't work out). Especially given the current decimation of this team's D core due to the constant injuries they have suffered.

Bourque, however, is someone that should interest the Rangers' management team...plays LW, is physical, good in his own end, and can pot 25+ goals, to reiterate Trjwx and Sting. Problem is, the Flames probably value him highly in comparison to what other general managers think of him. It would take a package not worth it to acquire him, IMO.

Regardless, I think an offer such as Wolski/DZ would be tossed around.

Petty correction, Gord Miller is the one who confirmed it.

Giordano is Calgary's best defenseman.

Only reason they'd move him is if they were getting a #1 C back...the only piece in the trade you offered that might be included if Wolski, only for salary reasons, however.

Eklund is a chump. IBN is the real deal and he hasn't said anything about this interest from Cgy.

Oh, I have no idea who the person was who confirmed it after Eklund said it. I merely said Bobby Mac tweeted it after, as I was fairly certain that at some point following Eklund, Bobby Mac did, in fact, say it

Could Feaster make MZA another coming of MSL? Or may be Feaster is interested in his pal John Tortorella. I wouldn't mind to part with Torts even if Suter is sent back.

He turns 30 in December, but so what? Guy is good for 25 goals a season and signed to a pretty cap_friendly deal at 3.3 million.

The more posts I read on here, the more I see McDonagh play, it comes to me more and more of what an absolute trade **** that was.
With Montreal's blue line in shambles you think they'd like to have McDonagh on the back end now ?

Guys, enough. Either believe Eklund or don't. No one really cares. Discuss the rumor itself and not the source. Further posts that contain nothing but complaints about Eklund will be considered spam and dealt with accordingly. Thanks.

yup. no shocker there. Ek did not report that Rangers are shopping and/or considering moving him so no need to go get panties all bunched up in a coil.

I would be ok with MZA going in a deal, seems pretty clear he doesn't have a spot on this club.

LOL yeah, it seemed like for those 10 minutes, HF boards took one big collective dump on Eklund. That being said, he does have sources in the Flyers organization and I believe Toronto also.

And there is 0% chance we ship out McD with our D looking like it does. Only deal I'm interested in is if it's something involving our spare parts (Wolski, EC, MZA, etc) for something else.

Outside of Iginla & Giordano who I can't see Calgary trading either for any reason accept severe overpayment. I wouldn't mind inquiring what it would take to get Bourque or Babchuk in blue.

Bourque & Babchuk are needs for us, Calgary needs prospect depth & we have it. Babchuk has been benched I believe 3 out of the last 4 games for no apparent reason as Calgary boards are even questioning why due to his play being decent but not spectacular, but not a liability either, so something's up there.

If we are serious about this year then those are 2 guys we should go after as a package if we can do it without sacrificing our future or our core. As much as I loved watching '94 happen, I still with all my heart believe the 7 year playoff drought was due to us trading away Amonte, Weight, Zubov, Norstrom, not just because of the talent but the message it sent to the players in the locker room and the environment it created.

The problem with aquiring both of those guys in a package deal is we will have to give up at least one player that will be emotionally hurtful to us fans and thats the reality of it.

I'm sure Calgary has interest in McD, but based on the way he burst on to the scene last season and how he has played so far this season, PLUS the fact that Staal is out for god knows how long, I'd say that McD is pretty much near untradeable at this point in time. (holy run-on sentence batman!)

McDonagh really showed some promise with the moves he made on offense. I wouldnt want to trade him right now. I have a feeling he is coming into his own and might have a flair for the "O".

If not, he is still a hell-of-a defenseman and a minute muncher. Not willing to trade him.

Even if Sauer and Staal were back.. I dont want to trade McD'
