Apparently the Caps are 9-0-3 against the Flyers in the last 12 meetings, that doesnt sound good and Hartnell sure isn't helping

Go back to the old lines, put Schenn where Hartnell was on the third line and just bench Hartnell or give him garbage fourth line minutes.

That last play started because Giroux got outmuscled in the corner by Backstrom...where's Richie when you need him...

Backstrom just won a board battle against two flyers and #28 just learned he has a little ways to go to be considered an elite two way center. Love that kids offense but you cant just let the guy bullrush to the front like that.

First period of his first game...I think we can give him a break.
We knew it would be a good game...just need to bounce back.

Giroux has looked noticeably worse in his own end this year. Apparently Carter actually did pull a lot of weight on that line last year.

It isn't a good game so far.
Our one goal and pretty much only bright spot of the first period was caused by a bad call from the refs on the Caps. Aside from that that was a crap first period.

I heard that too but that just doesn't sound right...
Well anyway the team looks flat. Like they're respecting the caps too much. Not enough hits, that team is weak sauce against physical play.

What's going on Kings East, how has Schenn looked? In his 9 game stint with the Kings last year he looked like he had some good offensive instincts but needed improvement on his play away from the puck.
Hopefully you guys enjoy Schenn, now and in the future. We in LA are already enjoying Richards

Maybe he's developing the mentality that if he expends less energy on defense he will have more to burn on offense thus getting more chances and more points

I thought that was obvious to be honest. Carter was our best face-off man (which goes a long way defensively) and he was a very capable two-way man.

Yes, because Walker is renown for being a good player.

They look dead out there, love the turn overs in our zone because that's really helping our situation. I'd imagine they come out a little more lively and play smarter hockey in the 2nd or at least I hope so.

His minutes are down because he has a lot of competition at even strength and he's not PK material or first unit PP material. Yes, he does currently suck though and serve no purpose.
