Anthony S. has a Tweet "Timonen gives @tpanotchcsn grief." Not sure what it is.

Can anyone access that?

Holy wow! I was at the game and had awesome seats.. real close so i got to see real close how bad of a game scott Hartnell had. Man his play was sad. He was on his ass more than he was on his feet. Unbelievable turnover in his own zone to lead to the first goal by Washington. Sloppy all around especially in our own zone and the fore check absolutely sucked!

Brayden Schenn played what only 11 minutes by man he does like to throw his weight around which was nice to see. He was better on finishing his checks and going for pucks than Hartnell was. he was a -3 but its wasnt all his fault from what i remember.

Nice to see Couts get that goal at the end..... by man were they sloppy tonight

Jagr is awesome at protecting the puck too...tv doesnt do it justice

I'm not seeing anything. Watching Timonen use his Finnglish to tell off Timmy would make everything alright.

Horrible Effort. No Emotion. No Guts. Just Shameful. I could give a whole litany on all
the failures for tonight. But I refuse. It is just too painful to agonize and re-hash all
the bad moments. I guess this is the Flyers team that will take two steps forward and then one step back.

That static is BRUTAL.

"What do you think, Timmy?" He sounds like he's talking to a child.

Time for an Iron Mike story. Third game of his coaching career, Flyers lost 5-2 to Montreal. Had a practice from hell the next day, one Tim Kerr called the toughest he remembered, Flyers won the next game 13-2. And you think Coke machines have it tough?

Iron Mike broke players, not coke machines.

Let's take this thread back to a happier time, somewhere around page 5:

Post-game quotes.

http://phillysportsdaily.com/flyers/...by-washington/

Quote:
“They’re trying to do their best, they’re trying to help me,” said Bryzgalov when asked if he’d rather just have his defensemen try to allow the goalie to see the puck as opposed to trying to block the shots. “It’s one of the nights when the puck hits our players, their players just go right to the net. I hope the next night we’ll avoid this.”
Quote:
“A lot of those goals were kinda back-door tip, I think one went off our stick and I had a bad turnover that first period,” said Hartnell. “You eliminate my turnover and it’s just a couple bad breaks.”
Quote:
“I tried to lift his stick and I clipped him,” said Briere. “Gotta be responsible for your stick and I take full credit for that, but honestly I don’t think the penalties really killed us tonight. It was just a matter that we couldn’t score.”
Quote:
“When you put four goals in your net off of redirects, it’s tough — three of them off of your own sticks,” said Peter Laviolette. “I’m not making excuses. It’s a loss. You look up halfway through the third period, it’s 5-1 in your building. It’s certainly not what we’re looking for. We need to get better.”
Briere:
Quote:
"I felt personally that it was probably my best game out of the six and it was the worst game as a team."

Ever hear the story about the hockey coach tying his goalie's neck around the cross-bar by a rope, because he was going down too soon. Sounds like Iron Mike to me.

I seem to recall finishing last place overall not to long ago, pretty sure this team would beat that one

That was a god-awful effort. Hartnell truly sucks, he's one of the senior players in this team and he's not putting it on at all.

Relax guys, things just weren't clicking that game. I was there and I saw some poor efforts from some and great efforts from others. But there is no need to freak out and start pointing fingers at this and that. The caps are a great team and as a hockey player myself I understand that sometimes good teams lose games. Keep in mind this Flyers team is still working to build chemistry with one another.

Seriously though, Hartnell ****ing sucks. I love his personality and all but he needs to wise up quick. At first I enjoyed his crazy unpredictable shenanigans but now I'm getting fed up. I hope he improves his play soon because I'd love if he stuck around, but if he doesn't start making better decisions on the ice I would rather he be off the team.

Not when the lines constantly switch. I would have said that if we used the lines we had for the first 4 games, but after the first line (Giroux line) everything else changed.

Honestly, one guy who I do like but hasnt done anything is Danny Briere. He has really go to start producing or doing something.
