Yeah, Initially thought it was a botched shot too but it's quite clearly a pass on the replay. Nasty.

Hate to brag, but I will anyway
When it was announced that Staal would be out I said that the silver lining would be players being forced to step up. Messrs. Girardi and McDonagh, please step forward and take a bow.
Last night we really had a look at the potential McDonagh has. Lets hope it truly was his coming out party. His skating continues to impress, but we knew he was a good skater. What we really saw last night was an example of things you can't teach. Anticipation, knowing when to make your move and open a play up, then being able to execute and make something great happen. When you see that from a 22 year old defenseman against a team like Vancouver, it takes your breath away.
Girardi very simply is showing that he truly is a first rate, first pairing D man. A rock for this team.
Ohhhh the possibilities.....

They should get a statue made of Sather on the phone making the Gomez deal and put it in front of MSG.

He had a brutal game, but that goal made me go insane. Ecstatic to have him here.

It's going to be giving for at least the next 10 years.

Why do you think they are renovating the Garden? That's the actual reason.

so what's the dealio, McD seemed to do pretty well on offense in College is he showing his potential now? Seems like he's got some jump. That could make the McD ,Sauer pairing even better if so

I don't know how people are calling him one of the stars of the game. He was a train wreck in his own zone.
That's not to say I wasn't as excited as anyone when he scored that goal.

Not a great game tonight over all. But great players find a way to get it done. I don't think he's great yet. In a year or so he might be.
