What do Preds fans think of Colin Wilson? Is he future #1 center material? Any chance they may trade him and what would their need be?
Because of Trotz's style and our offensive ineptitude, he's already basically a top-liner. As was mentioned, so far he's been a better winger than center but unless someone knows the team well they wouldn't really know that.
Trade him? Doubtful. We have few solid offensive prospects and if we make any kind of move involving key (or promising) players it would likely be on defense where there's more depth. Any move like that would result in our huge "need" which is offense, and unless the perfect deal came along, trading Wilson would likely cancel out the effectiveness of said trade.
The Predators lack big, powerful forwards with good offensive instincts who can play top line minutes. Wilson fits that to the letter. To trade him now would be incredibly dumb unless the return was just too great to pass up, but in reality that type of return isn't going to come along unless Weber and/or Suter and/or Rinne is also involved.
He wont be moved. probably been our most consistent player this season
Maybe after Legwand. SK has more points than him, too. But he has certainly been one of our better players, and is carving himself out a nice spot on the top line. The best part is this is only the beginning of his second full NHL season (hopefully he plays a full season).
